Laurie Anderson - O Superman (with lyrics)

Although not a novelty record per se, this record is certainly novel in that it is one of a kind and thus deemed appropriate for this channel. It is also a favourite of mine.
It was released in the UK in 1981 and reached number 2 in the singles chart - no mean feat for such a unique track and which received relatively little airplay on daytime radio at the time due to its length.
I have no idea what the lyrics are about and I have resisted the urge to research the meaning as the mystery adds to the appeal of the track - in my opinion at least!
The images on this video include images of the Voyager space probe and the plaques carried by it and the Pioneer probes, launched in 1977 and 1971 respectively. They and the other graphics are nothing to do with the song, I just felt that they went well with it.
