Exactly. And I mean this in the nicest way possible, but most people aren’t watching Young Sheldon for Georgie and Mandy. They’re nice actors, and Georgie is a likable character (though I’ve noticed some people are 50/50 with Mandy) but their story isn’t very interesting. If they were to make a spin off it would make more sense to depict something like Missy’s teenage years now that Sheldon is more or less out of the picture. We know from TBBT that Missy made some bad decisions as a teenager after George died, so it would be interesting to have a show of a few seasons exploring Missy, but Georgie’s story is already so fleshed out. He only ever has one child, he has 3 wives, he gets into the tire business, and he develops a detached relationship with Sheldon. A season focused on Georgie and Mandy without Mee Maw, Mary, or Missy as season regulars wouldn’t be very enticing for audiences.
I mean truly we all love Georgie he’s really funny but I don’t think him and Mandy can carry a show maybe it’s just because more interesting stuff was happening but other than there marriage I got annoyed when they cut from missy or Sheldon to Georgie being told his grammar sucks
Yeah , in bbt, Georgie and Shelly’s heart to heart made it seemed like he stuck around for awhile after his dads death and Sheldon leaving and the family had some hard emotional times and Georgie “held it all together” , a spinoff with just G & M doesn’t make much sense, Mandy loves his family and don’t see her demanding he move faraway or not be around them much.
Annie Potts and her quick-witted line delivery is one of the main reasons for watching that show!! Why, in an "ensemble cast," should anyone get paid more than the others. Annie was also hilarious and touching in "Designing Women."
If you have seen The Big Bang Theory, they constantly say that Sheldon’s dad dies when he’s 14 and he enters CalTech. That’s exactly how Young Sheldon ended. It had to be like that because it was written more than 10 years ago.
why would they not be on the show? georgie said in BBT he had to watch over the family while sheldon was at caltech after george died. kinda stupid. so the only people from the original castin the show is gonna he georgie mandy and mary?

I think it’s completely right to end it on George’s death, the idea it was Sheldon writing his story in the first place is beautiful. The only thing I’d change is I really wish we got closure on Paige
The CBS TV Show Programming President made a stupid move on cancelling their top viewing shows like Young Sheldon, NCIS Hawaii, CSI: Vegas and other shows.
I think the cancellation has more to do with his physicality than his age, he's not growing into the lanky nerd we know and love from Big Bang Theory, he's looking more like a linebacker. All good things come to an end whether we like it or not and Young Sheldon is no exception.
Sheldon could go off to College...he was secondary the last 2 years....Missy, Georgie, MeMaw, Mandy, Craig T Nelson and Melissa Peterson all could have been a great continuence w Sheldon making cameos...
The actor playing young Sheldon getting older only makes sense since Sheldon does grow up to be the person in Big bang theory. So having the excuse that he's too old to play The character totally doesn't make any sense.
Hey it would be cool to still have the meemaw, the mom, and missy still in the show periodically it would still show the “family” is still connected idk
The success of Young Sheldon was due to the sum of all it's parts. Time will tell if the new Georgie and Mandy show will have the magic of the right ensemble.

Annine should appear in the spin off alot becuase its grandma, she's retired and local,Mary and Mandy's parents occasionally too how do you not raise a kid without family when they live close
I don’t know how they would’ve continued without George, honestly. The show worked so well because it married the conflicts, comedy, and heartfelt aspects of family life, and a lot of that comedy and tension came from George.
This is just ridiculous. Thi sshow had a shelf life from the jump. We knew from BBT that George was going to die when Sheldon was 13. They did everything they could to slow down time, because it really should have only taken 4 or 5 seasons for Sheldon and Missy to get to 13, not 7.
She’s 100% right. If a show goes 10 seasons the networks have to pay syndication. To avoid paying more money they’ll cancel shows before the 10th season.
I actually think one last "grand finale" season dedicated to growing into adulthood would have been a perfect ending to the series. A whole season just to bridge the gap between young sheldon and big bang theory.
I can't believe I didn't recognize Annie Potts!!! I loved her in Designing Women and I enjoyed her as young Sheldon's grandmother; but, I never connected the two.
Honestly I'm pissed as well, Young Sheldon could go for longer while Georgie and Mandy had their own spinoff, there's quite a time gap between Sheldon's arrival at Caltech and when Leonard met him - more than 10 years of content!!! I think the cancellation has more to do with his physicality than his age, he's not growing into the lanky nerd we know and love from Big Bang Theory, he's looking more like a linebacker. All good things come to an end whether we like it or not and Young Sheldon is no exception.
I thought it said “she passed” and about had a heart attack
didnt she appear in the big bang theory though?
@@dalaw1998 I’m not sure if she did. But she was Meemaw in Young Sheldon. Funnily enough, the actor who played George was Leonard’s bully in Big Bang
Sheldon could go off to College...he was secondary the last 2 years....Missy, Georgie, MeMaw, Mandy, Craig T Nelson and Melissa Peterson all could have been a great continuence w Sheldon making cameos...
I TOTALLY AGREE👏👏👏
Yes! I really didn’t watch for Sheldon, it was the other characters.
I personally love Annie Potts. So like I don't understand why people in the comments are hating on her she's a good person
15 is waaay to old to play a teenager! What is cbs thinking!!! 🙄
The actor playing young Sheldon getting older only makes sense since Sheldon does grow up to be the person in Big bang theory. So having the excuse that he's too old to play The character totally doesn't make any sense.
The older he gets the more different he will look and sound.
I’m really sad to learn that this show is being cancelled since I love annie Potts and had no idea she was on this show.
Ms. Potts is a TV legend.
It's ending while it's still good...too many shows go on longer and they get so bad.
Right?! Like 20 freaking seasons of grey’s?!!!
Exactly, "Young Sheldon" couldn't exist without a young Sheldon
You all sound amazing!! I truly hope you can go as far as you can with this show, it’s been almost 40 years too long for this show’s comeback. Can’t wait to see what you do next ❤
Also played as the receptionist in Ghostbusters
I'm sure Connie will be in the new show, she was vital to their relationship
Yep I bet they’d recast connie as tbbt connie and that YS connie look nothing alike
I've loved Annie since CORVETTE SUMMER. All the best to her.
I would love for them to make Cotvette Winter. An older guy looking for a land speeder he once owned.
I still have never seen Corvette Summer but really want to.
@stephenolan5539 Both Annie and Mark Hamels bum (inside joke)
Were so cute in that movie. Yes, a sequel would be wonderful with those 2.
Same here!! ❤💯
Annie Potts is right. CBS Is making terrible decisions this year
Yeah I agree, how dare the cast grow old!!!🙄
Annine should appear in the spin off alot becuase its grandma, she's retired and local,Mary and Mandy's parents occasionally too how do you not raise a kid without family when they live close
She also voices bo peep in the Toy Story movies
She was also in the OG Ghostbuster, Pretty in Pink, Designing Women, she’s been in it a long time.
@@alisias8365 what a skinny legend 💪🏼
She has a valid point but to tell you the truth after this I won't be bothering with CBS television any longer...
Or maybe the show told the story it aimed to tell and thats that? Sheldon has to grow up at some point
I wish more people would realize that sometimes the story is done being told.
She's 100% correct.
how is she right? all series end. this is no different. she needs to grow up
@@ogieoglethorpe3788 She simply thinks that because the show is doing SO well that it should have gone on for three more years. She’s not wrong.
I disbelieve. Deep down she just misses her work babies
I mean....ageing exists.
Annie Potts is the most awesome character on the show! Without Meemaw I never would've watched past the 1st episode
SHE'S CORRECT, SHE'S A VETERAN ACTRESS SHE KNOWS HER STUFF❤
Young Sheldon is a really good show , sorry to see it end
I will always first remember Annie Potts opposite Mark Hammil in the movie Corvette Summer 💖
Annie is a legend. She should get her own show!!
Veronica has to comeback. The cause of his 1st divorce
"I feel it's generally ending at the right time."...Yeah she sounds downright irate.
It clicked that Sheldon’s grandma is the receptionist from Ghostbusters
I love Annie pots sm
I don’t know how they would’ve continued without George, honestly. The show worked so well because it married the conflicts, comedy, and heartfelt aspects of family life, and a lot of that comedy and tension came from George.
Annie Potts is brilliant.
Young Sheldon ended while it's still beloved
This is just ridiculous. Thi sshow had a shelf life from the jump. We knew from BBT that George was going to die when Sheldon was 13. They did everything they could to slow down time, because it really should have only taken 4 or 5 seasons for Sheldon and Missy to get to 13, not 7.
Annie Pott's answer is more truthful than what was told to us!!!!
She’s 100% right. If a show goes 10 seasons the networks have to pay syndication. To avoid paying more money they’ll cancel shows before the 10th season.
Syndication kicks in not after 10 season, but after 100 episodes. That happened in series 5. There has been 141 episodes.
VERY few shows go 10 years
@@travisjohnson6676 there are a good amount of shows that went past 10 years
@@NeonSJuggalo
It's relatively low as a percentage of shows ever aired
@@travisjohnson6676 I can think of a couple dozen off the top of my head, not that rare
I actually think one last "grand finale" season dedicated to growing into adulthood would have been a perfect ending to the series. A whole season just to bridge the gap between young sheldon and big bang theory.
I agree I love the show
They should have kept it or changed the name and kept the cast in full. And they could use ghost or past memories to have dad still in it also.
Have never had any interest at all, with the 'Sheldon show', but Annie Potts was spectacular in Designing Women. Highly under-rated actress for sure.
Annie should be cast on the spin off❤❤❤
Love ya, Annie!
She's always been a Sweetheart I think .❤
I mean young sheldon is growing and more looking like father jeff insteads of adult sheldon
Ikr and I don't think it's father Jeff, it's Pastor Jeff because they're baptist and not Catholic.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Annie Potts in Young Sheldon.
Now that George is gone, everyone is going their own ways it makes sense to have a spin off.
This guy is like the magazines at the aisles of a grocery store but no matter how many times I ask UA-cam to stop recommending him he so pops up
Love Annie Potts 😂❤
Annie Potts is pissed just like Connie
I’m pissed off too. I love that show.
It'd be great to see what he did without Leonard and the gang for the first 10 years at California
