- Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling dish with “Extra’s” Melvin about taking on the roles of Barbie and Ken in their new big-screen adventure “Barbie.” Margot recalled giving Ryan silly presents every day on set, while Ryan spoke about channeling his “Kenergy.” Ryan also shared what his daughters thought of his role and revealed they helped coach him on the set for one special scene. Plus, Margot and Ryan talk getting ready to team up again for an ”Ocean’s Eleven” movie. “Barbie” hits theaters July 21.

ryan answering "I don't know" with regards to kenergy is basically what kenergy is. It cannot stand alone on its own, it's dependent on barbie. It has no identity besides being associated with barbie XDDD It's like the reverse of women whose identity is all about being 'married' to a guy. Kenergy is the guy who has no autonomous self/identity other than being latched onto a woman who's 'the boss' so to speak XDDD
And the fact that he says something like this at the end of this interview is gold 😂 “as a Ken I cannot stand for more conversation about Ken” 😂He’s literally the perfect Ken and embodies Kenergy like no one else looool

Kenergy to me is like the freedom of Barbie subconsciously giving Ken permission to embody the opposite of toxic masculinity 😂He can dress up in fun clothes/costumes, go dancing, and live his best life with no embarrassment whatsoever 🤩
It took this movie for me to realize that I've actually never seen a Ryan Gosling movie; I only knew of him being an A-lister. I had no idea what to expect with him as Ken at first, but learning about his personality more and more with these interviews is making me all the more excited for the movie!

Margot seems like an absolute delight! I went to the UK premiere yesterday and I got a chance to take a picture with Margot!!! My camera was off and then the back camera was switched on and I needed to adjust to front camera… this felt like a years worth of chaos, and she just waited for me to adjust and then left with the most beautiful smile ❤

Ryan really is hilarious. I’m surprised he isn’t doing mostly comedies. I didn’t realize just how naturally funny he is until these interviews. Then I started watching other interviews and realized he has always been this funny.

This movie was so good, and I was totally caught off guard with just how good it was. Funny, inspiring, thought provoking! There were men busting out laughing, women laughing, women clapping some men too!!! I have never ever been in a movie where the representation from old, young, all races, sexes. It was a wonderful few hours spent watching an unexpected movie with what felt like a huge family reunion of somewhat Barbie fans😂✌🏾

His bodylanguage says it all, he literally blocks off the interviewer and has his full body turned to her
I think he’s letting her have the spotlight, giving her center stage by facing her instead of the camera, which she’s squarely facing the camera & interviewer herself. He knows he’s the supporting role & he’s embracing it. I think that’s great!
