We embarked on a breathtaking journey through nature's masterpiece as we hiked the Summerland Trail in Mount Rainier National Park. This scenic adventure unfolds like a storybook, weaving through lush alpine meadows, dense evergreen forests, and rugged landscapes that showcase the grandeur of Mount Rainier.
The trail starts with a gentle ascent, guiding us through vibrant wildflower meadows that burst into a kaleidoscope of colors during the summer months. As we ascended, the iconic peak of Mount Rainier stood tall as a majestic backdrop, inspiring awe and admiration. The sound of babbling creeks accompanied our journey, providing a soothing soundtrack to the hike.
One of the trail's highlights is the panoramic viewpoint at Panhandle Gap, offering a mesmerizing vista of glaciers and snow-capped peaks. The crisp mountain air invigorated our senses as we reached the higher elevations where we kept an eye out for native wildlife, from marmots to elusive mountain goats.
Our final destination is the enchanting Summerland, a high-alpine basin adorned with a pristine glacial-fed lake. Here, the reflection of Mount Rainier on the crystal-clear waters created a picture-perfect scene. We embraced the serenity of this secluded paradise, surrounded by towering peaks and the untouched beauty of nature. Such a relaxing video! And wow Mt Rainier National Park looks amazing. I think I need to plan a trip up there now. Also this video makes me remember all the national park road trips my parents would take me on as a young kid and how that planted the seeds for my lifelong love of the outdoors. Noticed you usually wear a long sleeve hoodie and have the hood on while hiking. Looks like your wife has short sleeve tee, so I assume it was warm. Just wondered if you are cold or if it helps some other way with sweat or something else

Great question. The hoodie helps reduce sun exposure. I’m prone to easily sunburn and has been essential to my hikes in the past couple of years.
