For a first time carving i think it came out execelent, i have just got into carving, your video has been very helpful, thank you.
Thank you for showing step by step. Now I can try.your project looks awesome
not bad for the first time! great to experiment and expand our horizons. thanks for the inspo!
Hi I just watched your video again lol.Thank for this video.I wanted to see if u knew how to make the mushrooms like 1 up 1 down.I think your way is definitely rite and looks Beautiful. Like in landscaping ones.ty
Great idea, you deserve more attention. This was exactly what kind of idea I had in mind. I have a beautiful plack I made from bass wood and stained multiple different shades. I think I'll do a magical mushroom type scene with a gnome or something in there too.
Hi iv just got a set of chisels like yours they come with a sheet of sandpaper and a stick of chalk to sharpen them,
Not sure how to do it, can you help , thanks
Excellent,10 out of 10, well done.
thank you so much for this video,I have ben trying for a few months like every day how to do this, step by step u explained everything awesome,Im siked,I def.SUB
even a single good tool would help. the dremel really is kinda slow and messy compared to a good chisel. Most people start with one of those sets you have, but they really make it much harder. if you keep pushing that chisel towards your hand like that, there will probably be blood. Not trying to be negative, we all gotta start somewhere.
Good project. Many thanks, I am considering learning how to carve myself.
Thanks for watching!
Very nice video with good information. Very relaxing too. You have a very soothing voice. Subscribed!
Glad you liked it.
how would you lean up the edges if you were not using a dremmel
Hi Steph. Im learning also and I found out when you do your first outline of your image with the chisel you can make a better cut by doing a relief cut perpendicular to the line of the image. A guy named Stumpy Nubs has a short video that can really help. Bye for now.
Thank you for the tip Robert!
I have those same exact carving chisels too
Not a big fan of the chisels you used those buggers broke when i tried to use one. I often use a 3 bladed old-timer for that type of carving . The sheep's foot blade works well for outlining .
Whats in the cup? :)
You did well I think, but you can always take it to the next level and layer your objects by defining volume. Job well done for first time though.
Get the band aid out. One hand chisel work with other hand on work is a bad combination, there will be blood. Please use 2 hands on chisel 1 for power and one for guiding. less chance of gore.
This is amazing. I have been trying to get someone.... anyone... to respond to me and my download issues for the program. HELP???
Hi DeAnn, we are here to help. Have you tried submitting your questions to the help page on our website? What issues are you having?
Thank you for your reply. I was finally able to get a response from the Facebook page. They cleared it up within 15 minutes. So I have been able to access the program and have been pumping out the resized and multi paged sketches this past evening. I have many painting planned! Thank you again.!
I don't have an issue with you trying to learn. I think it's awesome but please don't title a video a tutorial if this is your first time doing things. It is misleading and I'm sure as I'm trying to learn if I watched your video I could possibly pick up bad habits thinking it's an actual tutorial.
Good point, John. Safety is big. You have to keep innocent fingers out of the way, and learn how to hold the tools correctly and use the right tool for the right job. This is NOT a tutorial. This is a beginner trying to learn...lonnnng way to go, but keep trying. Watch a lot of carving before trying again. Easiest way to learn the correct methods. It's a lot harder to unlearn bad habits.
Wear a carving glove on your hand that you are not carving with. I know this by experience.
I hv 2 comments here....
1. You may need to speak up a little because your voice sounds muffled.
2. The chisels are not sharp at all causing the cuts to 'break'. Only extremely sharp chisels produce clean and smooth cuts.
Please use two hands when using them micro chisels even if you just put a couple of fingers on to steady the blade, as your opposite hand was very close in case you slip!😱😱😳💥 I will attest to chisels slipping and digging into palms and fingers! 😂😂🚑
🥰🥰🥰
I couldn't watch the video too long. The spit smacking sounds were driving me nuts
thats the only reason i watched the entire thing.
