    btw, the reason why Fuzhou spent 8 years to build metro is that the soil property is too soft so it is very time-consuming and money costing to build this metro.

      @@BlondieinChina actually another reason is that my hometown is a very ancient city for thousands of years. When they dig underground they found a lot of ancient ruins under many stations, which they had to halt and call experts for help, months later to resume building the subway.

    • @peteregan3862
      @peteregan3862 4 роки тому +6

      @@lyzgeorge That makes sense. The shallower to the surface, the more useful a rail line. In Roma, Italia it takes forever to build a metro line for this reason. The build quick option is to build deep, but at stations a slow excavation is needed to recover historical artefacts - Fuzhou must have preserved much history by taking the time to do archaeology.

You may try some other Fuzhou foods, like rouyan(fuzhou wonton ), dingbianhu(rice patter), xianmianhu, which are all famous for their fresh and delicious soup with seafood and shrimp sauce . I think the "thousand-year Chrismas tree" is the big Ficus microcarpa(榕树) in the Forest Park~ Fuzhou is famous for this kind of tree, and it's even called 榕城(the city of Ficus microcarpa). This paticular one in the Forest Park is more than one thousand years old, and it's so big that it looks like a hill. Don't miss it when you go to Fuzhou next time!

      No, that's not true. Chinese-Americans are overwhelmingly Cantonese. Fuzhou people consist of a much smaller minority and are more recent immigrants to the US.

      Qiu S is it? China people migration to USA is only in recent decades. They mostly come from northern China or elsewhere. For centuries, the China people who migrated overseas are Han Chinese who are mostly from Guangdong and Fujian, and they mostly settled down in. Southeast Asia, even Australia. Southeast Asia has largest population of overseas Chinese in the world.

      @@Tekhelet75 For God's sake. Go visit San Francisco and you'll run into Chinese who've settled in the city for many generations. There were so many Chinese in America that it generated a discrimination backlash and the Chinese-Exclusion Act of 1882 in U.S.

      @@BlondieinChina Yes!!! I'll recommend you the most local dining outlets which are hard to discover.
      1. Beijing Duck: 利群 (a famous old restaurant that servers the best ducks, many foreign government officials have visited. Duck needs to be reserved ahead, but only duck, seats are not included, patient and waiting are usually required. the ducks here is more fatty than the ones we get in 大董, 大董 is also good tho.
      2. Zhajiang Noodles炸酱面:the address is "方砖厂胡同69号“ it's close to 南锣鼓巷, the most famous hutong in beijing.
      3. beijing hotpot涮羊肉:I recommend 老门框爆肚涮肉, it's a chain restaurant with 6 outlets, when r u searching for it, please make sure to type exact same name from above, cuz there r fake ones.
      4. 卤煮火烧,this is Beijingers' favorite dish for late night, many restaurants are good tho, for example 门框胡同百年卤煮,小肠陈,卤煮吕,北新桥卤煮。
      5. 炒肝&包子:this is typical Beijing style breakfast, 天兴居 is the inventor restaurant of 炒肝, I recommend their oldest outlet, the one located in 鲜鱼口胡同。
      6. 糖油饼, it's a kind of sweet breakfast bread, the 黑窑厂街糖油饼 food stand is a must try, but it usually sell out around 8 o'clock, since it's to famous.
      7. I want to introduce you a pub called "El Nido" located in 北锣鼓巷(not far to the 2nd restaurant), it's basically a pub in a traditional beijing house, the yard is amazing. the customer there are only local beijing people and foreigners who speaks chinese with beijing accent. BTW Beijing is the city that has the best beer cultural in whole China.
