Man those V10's used to make some really evil sounds...especially under braking....you dont get as much of that snarling and popping anymore with the V8's...plus that shrill scream V10 sound is gone too, i miss those days..the V8's sound too clean
My friend went to the monaco gp at 2004 and said that the most impressive part of the race is when they brake in to the swimming complex and you can hear the ESP misfiring the cylinders to prevent spinning of the track. My friend sat on a boat about 200m away from the harbor and still felt his ears pop due to the explosive sounds coming from "especially" the BMW and Renault engines. The ferrari sounded a bit smoother and leaner
Yeah, the V10s were the best, today's V6s are awful. Now it's only a matter of time until the inevitable "50 cc V2 EcoBoost-UltraQuiet" will put the final nail in F1's coffin!
@@TecraX2 lol that's an 11 year old comment. Had I known how bad the Turbo Hybrid V6's were going to sound when 2014 rolled around I probably would've kept my mouth shut!! They've given them a little more bark than they originally had these last couple years, but they're still not great. My favorite era (as far as sound goes) was 1989-1994, they had a great mix of sounds back then, V8's V10's and V12's all on track at the same time with very unique exhaust notes
@clay111 I have heard the v8 and v10 F1 car and I noticed the change ALOT. The V8's just sound alot weaker and not as menacing and brutal as the v10 . I didn't even need to use ear defenders with the v8s :S
I feel sorry for the people who were too young, or weren't born, who didn't witness or experience the V10 era. Believe those that did and who say it was the best era in F1.
