I can just picture this guy at work in a cubicle somewhere playing this with that same neutral expression like its perfectly normal. lmfao Very nice cover! \m/
Thanks! I might do one at some point in the future, but unfortunately, it's been a long time since I learned it, and I forgot most of what I learned. So... somewhat doubtful :(
Thanks! It's actually one of the more annoying parts of making these videos, haha. I've done it a few different ways, and I'm not sure which is the best. The first way obviously is just manually nudging the audio forward and backward until it "looks right", but this can be very troublesome to get right. Another is to play a "chuck" on my guitar while the video is recording (but before the song starts), which gives me a visual reference point which has a corresponding point on the audio track (I cut this out in the final video of course). This is the same idea as a clapperboard (look it up on wikipedia). A third way is to sync the "pure" sound (the original track + the axe-fx direct in track) with the audio track of the camera itself. I know the camera sound is synced up with the video, so I can import its audio into my DAW and line the pure sound up visually with the waveform of the camera track. Then I can mute the camera track in the final mix, and replace the audio in the video with the new tracks (and then cut the beginning/end portions to match). Even with these tricks, I still often get the sync wrong... :( many videos I've made have sync issues. So, I just try to do the best I can. Anyway, hope this is helpful.
It’s definitely challenging, but as with most things it’s just a matter of practice, slowing it down and being patient. But if you’re stuck, one thing you could try is to changing the picking pattern, so you could try starting with an upstroke instead of a downstroke, or you could use sweep picking, sweeping from the lower string to the higher string and then jumping back down for each group. Or do all downstrokes, old-school. One of these (or another one) you might find easier, plus each will have its own sound and you might prefer it. Good luck and have fun with it :)
@@thinkpad20 Thanks for the tips my man, slowly but surely improving. Really appreciate your playing, these were some of the first Suffo covers on UA-cam I used to watch back in the day!
@@cdsmetalhead99 Thanks for the kind words, it means a lot! These days I don't play much metal, still love listening to it but playing-wise I'm more into acoustic/classical fingerpicking stuff if you can believe it haha, so I haven't made any new videos for a few years now. I hope to return to it at some point but in the mean time it's nice to know people still appreciate my old videos :D
Damn man. There's a video by a user called letthedeathmetalflow with them performing it in Holland, you might have used it actually. Just look up the song title and "Holland". Hopefully it helps, I learned the outro riff from it.

Outfit is heavy :D
Interesting attire, good cover nonetheless
The picking pattern on that riff at 5:14 is really challenging for me for some reason

Is the Floyd one-way on that thing? I wish people would make those more often.
Fucking awesome! My favourite song form this album! Are you making a tab for this one?
coffee break in the office
Like A sir... or boss
brutal dude \m/
Office death metal part 2
What kind of amp do you use?
It’s in the description; I was using my Axe-FX Ultra with a 5150 sim and a boost (tube screamer) in front
They didn't drop D tune?
Nope! As far as I know they've only ever used standard tunings. D on Human Waste, C on Effigy, and C# on other albums
Play Prelude to Repulsion!
Well fuck, you just ripped that song to shreds dude, good work. It looks relatively easy or is it that either
Fuck... Is it either that you make it look easy, or is deceptively hard?
Corporate death metal
who fuckin 2 down????
Dude is wearing suit and tie?? Playing Suffocation?? That's like going to school wearing a dress if your a dude for gronks sake!!
