thx for the video. i have a lot of ckf, also a 1 of 10 timascus/damascus terra knife. thx for showing the disassembly process, i will try it myself. 👊🏼👊🏼
That knife is sexy contemporary looking, I really dig it. I really really dig how your videos are always so in focus, and your music is consistently at a good volume throughout the video, raising and lowering when necessary. Good production bro. Thanks for the upload.
So glad to get a fix of this knife in English before mine arrives (the Timascus Azure version) sometime this week. Thank you for the upload! They always send chocolate with their knives btw.
Wow you got the Timascus Azure! That's actually really beautiful IMO. Thanks for giving me the heads up about the chocolate - it's my first CKF purchase. I love the Terra - it's amazing. I'm relatively new to knives and at this point I'm being pretty picky with what I purchase - this is by far my most expensive purchase but I have no regrets! Thanks for the comment, Kit! Have a good day!
Mine came pretty much flush. After taking it out and reinstalling, they were a little raised. I used a g-clamp (and a rag to protect the knife) to "squeeze" it down and it's much better now.
Thank YOU for sharing your thoughts. hmm, maybe there are tolerance differences between each piece. I realized that mine sat flush but after I popped the inlay out, I was not able to get it as flush as it was originally - so I employed the use of a g-clamp and a microfibre cloth (to prevent scratching) to "squeeze" it back to being flush. Try that out maybe?
When starting the disassembly, I found the easiest way to remove the pocket clip pin was to push down on the backspacer bar vice pushing on the scales to align things to pop out the pin.
Great reveiew brother! Thats an art piece you got, congrats! 😁 You can try to flick it with your index finger while reaching the flipper tab from the back side of the blade and pulling it. I beleive it will do the trick 😁👍
So I read a review on blade HQ of someone who bought that exact version with titanium inlays. She said when it arrived the lock bar came with rust and she thinks its made of some cheap steel. The blade was "warped on one side by a hair" which I'm assuming the blade centering was off and the finish wasn't up to par for a thousand dollar knife. What are your thoughts of the overall quality. I really want one but if there's quality issues that's a huge turn off. The hardest thing to do in a review is portray the negatives but what do you think overall??
Wow that's kinda scary. The thing is, I'm not a knife reviewer - I definitely don't see myself as one. I've only started to get interested in knives this year. So far, my Terra has been fine. In fact, I've even gone as far as to stonewash the scales and re-color the inserts - and it's still fine. Maybe she should contact CKF with pictures as proof - I'm sure they'll work things out. I contacted them about the additional bearings that didn't fit the knife and they've since responded that they will be shipping over an extra set of bearings that will fit. IMO though - you're dropping $910 not just for the knife or materials - but mostly for the design and concept, and the precision of parts. At least, that's from my personal understanding.
Hey thank you for the reply. It's not about if you are a qualified knife reviewer but all that matters is you share the same passion and I think everyone who is in the same boat will appreciate you. Great job by the way for not being an official reviewer. I could care less if you're official or not. As far as the knife is concerned I still plan on picking one up eventually and was going to last week....but I came across a trouble blades mini debt collector AND a trouble blades mini mofo. Both Grails I've been searching for the last year and I snag both within a day of each other. Unreal.
Oh sweet! Glad you found your grails! It's crazy - I found my grail for sale like, 3 days after committing to purchase this Terra and I just couldn't help it. It was a Koenig Zenaida.

Are the Timascus Azure inserts on your knife raised up slightly from the handle like mine are?
Mine came pretty much flush. After taking it out and reinstalling, they were a little raised. I used a g-clamp (and a rag to protect the knife) to "squeeze" it down and it's much better now.
Thanks for the wonderful and complete video. It is an ingenious design and beautiful execution. I really enjoy mine.
Thank YOU for sharing your thoughts.

I was told that too by a friend - I tried it out and it WORKS.
I need to make an update video!

Damn! Now that is one ingenious knife. Really clever and awesome assembly. I wonder how long it took to come up with the final design. So cool.
