The “This Part is About Mumbo” slide had me CACKLING 🤣🤣🤣
What I love about Hermitcraft is that you can see cities rise from the ashes of hours, experience stories from great friends that are half-told and half-improvised, see novelties of persistence come into fruition - like the villager on a trader... and then you have a god damn mf'ing boat-shulker-railgun, all in one week.
This the sort of creative universe where the side-stories are like morsels of gold, and the main plot beats are full entrée's of lifesource excellence.
Couldn't find a synonym for whatever I wanted to say with "lifeforce", but I'm sure you readers grok my sentiment.
And then there's the Hermit Office which is a government-themed horror-adjacent "experience" complete with pranks, nonsense, and intentionally distressing hold music all bundled up into a building that reeks of all the worst bureaucratic experiences you've ever had.
As the other replyer stated, and then there is the Permit Office, the mind-numbing, soul-destroying, existential Permit Office.

This is fascinating. Does the chicken move quicker when the villager is panicked? Can the villager sleep or make love with another villager? Can they even pick up bread and wheat from the ground?
Sadly, a thread I found looking this up claims transforming the villager into a witch causes it to dismount, so we won't be having a new type of jockey

If I had a permit for every time Grian has built The Backrooms on Minecraft, I would have two permits (for Almond Water, probably). Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
It's more weird that you got a spare permit from the permit office
If I had a quarter for every time I've seen someone within his friend group build the backrooms in minecraft, I'd have two quarters.

The reason is the backrooms is his brain, also cause he likes messing with his friends
Doc bends the rules of Minecraft for the sake of efficiency, Zedaph bends the rules of Minecraft just for the lols. I personally prefer the latter.
As a German I prefer the former, but I think I gotta get into watching Zedaph as well.
It's been made obvious to me that I've been missing a lot of golden moments by missing out on zedaphs content...
I want to see the two team up SO BAD. Doc has pointed out how annoying villagers are on multiple occasions, so I want him, Zed, and the Hivemind to figure out the most efficient way to collect zombie chicken jockeys so the Chicken-villagers can become potentially "practical". I'm imagining a farm that auto-spawns chickens, potentially name-tag them (I forget if you can apply a name tag with a dispenser or some other redstone), auto-spawn zombies at the highest rate possible within range of those chickens, and then filter out and store the jockeys all while AFK or using an auto-clicker. I *really* want to know what the theoretical peak spawn rates could be and what the expected time-to-chicken-villager could be pushed down to.
There’s a solution for the villagers. And the answer is the same as every other horrible game mechanic, mods. Vanilla is garbage and mods fix the piss poor game design decisions.

I like how this episode is mostly the usual hijinks: Stressed gifts, possible missions, innovative graffiti, the works.. Then ends with "Oh yeah, and doc made a boat rail gun."

@@AnnaRebeccaN9 Want to play the "what makes me feel old" game? Finding Nemo came out 20 years ago. The Lord of the Rings films predate the StarWars prequels. The original Skyrim was 13 years ago. COVID was 4 years ago (and that still feels like yesterday for me...).
The amount of clever references to both Hermitcraft itself *and* the media outside the Minecraft community these guys manage to cram into these recaps never fails to amaze me, and whlist slightly slanderous sometimes, they are always a good time and manage to thoroughly yet concisely sum up the events.
In conclusion the recap passes the Base Blooben Test on A-s

Gotta love how Etho and Tango makes this rather innovative and efficient mail system, and Doc somehow STILL manage to discover ways to deliver stuff faster, in larger quantity and over insane distances. Like, is it any doubt who is the biggest Redstone savant on Hermitcraft or what? XD
(Yes, I know Doc is backed up be a whole community and all that, but still, the lengths he goes to for efficiency and manipulating both redstone and the game itself is insane.)
He speaks for the Hivemind, which is insane in and of itself. Fair enough, honestly.
As loyal as I am to the 🐐father, I think Zedaph's accomplishment was the more impressive-IIRC he needed to AFK for *seven IRL days* in all in order to spawn the Clucky Few, and the ingenuity needed to construct a system that got the odds down from _impossible_ to _improbable_ was truly staggering.
Admittedly, although doc's boat cannon is a lot faster for long-distance item transport than the mail system, it's actually a lot easier to break, as it can ONLY work when there arent players nearby; if they tried to build a mail system on the same technology, mail would disappear whenever someone was in the nether
In my opinion, Doc is better at game quirks (think SciCraft), Grian does buildings, Scar does terraforming, Mumbo is the Redstoner.
I would argue that what doc does isn't all red stone. Yes he has the red stone farms and stuff designed by the hive mind, but the stuff like the boat launcher would be more a technical Minecraft than red stone, because it's based entirely off of game mechanics and barely uses anyredstone except for the loading and unloading.

I think Cleo’s book permit is one that will have a huge profit rate at the start but will slow down a lot later while other people will slowly catch up and surpass it

the real dilemma now is, 'is doc the bad guy for not wanting to spend time at the end of a season gathering it, and now is making other people gather it for him, or is grian the real bad guy for building the worst thing imaginable on a multiplayer server?'

Not only does the redstone not work, none of the custom blocks are there. The micro blocks, player heads, custom pumpkins, none work.
X said they were unable to get the custom resource packs ported. And player heads aren't a thing on Bedrock.

Of course custom blocks and player heads arent there its bedrock how would they put something in a map that doesnt even exist in that version of the game likenuse common sense

Hermitcraft doesn't have any custom blocks. Custom blocks aren't a thing in either version without mods.
Downloaded the Season 9 world and paid respects to TFC. Afterward, I tried to find my way to Grain's rock just to see the Portal to the Empires Season 2 world, but couldn't find it.
That's because you weren't looking for *_Grian's_* rock 🙃

Just wanted to say, thanks so much for all you guys do. I only manage to watch half the hermits videos, so Recap fills in the blanks but with wit and clever writing to make me laugh even at the bits I've already seen!
In Hertmitcraft there are two types of hermits: silly or INSANE
so is smallishbeans now brawlishbeans or is geminislay now geminislayed
Underrated thing, but I like that XB is still repping the high-res textures. It feels like non-vanilla texturepacks went out of fashion and it's a bit of a bummer--the beautiful stylistic cartoon texturepacks are really charming.
I remember when mumbo used to use faithful I think it was and then he randomly stopped I still notice it every now and then and get surprised even though it's been a long time
Imagine someone flying in the path of that boat, just as it is being launched. Not only would they be confused, but so would be Doc, if the collision between the player and boat stops it and he doesn't get his delivery of bonemeal.
Doc's bonemeal transportation method reminds me of the USS Constitution quest from Fallout 4.
The Scarland book looks beautiful. What a touching tribute from the broader HC fanon, Zloy included. I hope it sells like honey-covered flapjacks.

@Jpthecool1800 In the sentence "Cleo likes minecraft", the proper noun "Cleo" can be replaced by a pronoun, either "he", "she", "they" or "it" in modern English.
Since Cleo uses she/they pronouns, that means they want people to say "She likes minecraft" or "They like minecraft" instead of "He likes minecraft" or "It likes minecraft".
Does that makes sense? If not I can explain more!

Doc has easily done some of the most impressive things within the game in order to make his shop. I mean he’s made the most efficient bonemeal farm, practically automated the production of every wood type (except dark oak as of the time this comment was made), and has made one of the biggest displays with some of the best detailing. Ik it’s unsurprising because it’s Doc, but I mean I gotta give it to him because he’s never really delved deep into the shop game

I was just looking on my home page of youtube and I came across a video of doc and bdubs playing basketball 1 on 1 from 10 years ago and either bdubs is super short (like we all know) or doc is super tall.
I don't watch all of Doc's videos. The super technical stuff just isn't my speed, but the guy is endlessly impressive. Half the time it feels like he's playing a different game. He's in the minecraft future. He's the Neo of Hermitcraft. He's seen the source code and laughed in its face.

I have a pretty old PS4, so after i downloaded the season 9 template, my game crashed when i was flying through Doc's perimiter because my poor little playstation couldn't keep up with all the new things loading in 😅

Serious answer: In the permit form for Scar's mobs permit, Grian included a nonsense "Base blooben test". Scar has to decide whether his permit meets the criteria of the test, which is intentionally left undefined and likely either response would be considered the 'wrong' answer. Introduced in Grian Ep 8 25:15

What do people think would happen to HermitCraft if, for next, season they switched to bedrock. I'm curious on what would happen as there are alot of differences between the two versions like not being able to build on the neither roof and all the differences in redstone and mods do people think it would negatively impact the game and content made. I think someone should make a video on this
