  • Ryan and Kelly sailed Alaska's Inside Passage on Discovery Princess. In this video series, they share with you their complete cruise experience! See how they spend sea days exploring the ship, and port days with excursions in Ketchikan, Juneau, and Skagway, Alaska.
In this video, they visit Skagway, Alaska where they hike along the Chilkoot trail and float down the Taiya river. Back on the ship, they order lunch using the Medallion app and have it delivered to enjoy on the pool deck. After lunch, they explore downtown Skagway before heading back onboard for a cocktail show at Good Spirits At Sea and dinner Crown Grill!

Hi from England. We enjoyed your vlog today. We just returned from the enchanted in Scandinavia from the UK, and we had a good time too.

I know totally different but how does this compare to Uncruise Wilderness Legacy?

Hi, Steve! Comparing Legacy to Discovery is hard since, as you've said, they are quite different. Discovery will have lots of activities at most hours of the day and several places to dine, offering many types of cuisine. Legacy is much more structured with morning and afternoon excursions, one dining room with specific meal times, and everyone eats at the same time. But this is simply due to passenger capacity (3,660 on Discovery and 86 on Legacy). Day-to-day life aboard Legacy is much more casual, quieter, and easygoing. There may be a lecture in the evening, but otherwise you spend most of your time off the ship on excursions. Obviously you can be much busier on Discovery if you choose! Both ships will take you into port but Legacy can go down narrower fjords and cruise closer to glaciers. Legacy also focuses more on wildlife and will slow down or hang out in a spot if a whale is spotted for instance. Legacy is also a much older and more charming ship, compared to the contemporary design of Discovery that started sailing in March 2022. Do you have any other questions? Happy to help!

@@watchuswander Thanks. Looking for a once in lifetime trip. Probably in 2025 with our adult children and their spouses to celebrate retirement. Any recommendations?Another possibility is American Queen’s Ocean Victory with 186 passengers. Another UA-cam channel says it is expedition lite. Which would you do again Princess or Uncruise?

Hi, Steve! Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. We'll actually be sailing on Ocean Victory in a couple months. We're heading to Antarctica so we can tell you all about the ship. As far as choosing between Princess or UnCruise, we would choose UnCruise. But we love being super active and getting out into nature. That's not what everyone wants to do on their vacations, haha! I think a ship that can offer a lot to do with a range of activity levels would be ideal for you. A good mix of nature and ports. That way you can either be busy or take it slow and not feel like you're missing anything.
