15:15 Minghao (who’s tends to be more of a quiet person) losing his mind trying to imitate Hoshi’s insane energy was my favorite part 😭 I think he spent more energy than he usually does in like a week.
It’s not that seventeen themselves know every reference like Carats do or they’re actively seeking them out, they’ve just been together for 10+ years and know each other way too well lmaoo 😭 like not everything they’re doing is a reference (though there a couple thrown in there bcs they’re iconic or memed) but each person is just doing how they think the member they’re impersonating would respond. They’re just doing what would be in character for the member they’re imitating and their habits, so they’re just scarily accurate which is why the carat who made this video was able to find so much context and references for newer carats to understand.
Honestly what’s so special and funny about seventeen is that they’re like all so wrapped up in each other that basically 80% of their conversations and actions is a reference to something small that happened between them like 7 years ago. It’s just a part of their everyday conversations and it’s hard to get used to because they even use some references when they’re doing their concerts. It’s just something you get used to the more you watch them. Like I never really put any conscious effort into knowing every single reference and inside joke but I’ve just watched them enough for years to just naturally recognize them because I’ve watched enough of their content and they make like the same jokes over and over again every couple of months or years so it’s hard not to notice.

For context: there's this sports competition called ISAC where idols participate in and (as is natural) they also talk to each other during breaks. So anyway, what happened is that back in 2016 there was this rumor that BTS' V was hanging out with a girl on ISAC, but it turned out he was hanging out and playing with/trying to tie Jeonghan's hair 💀
you mentioned that about their extensive knowledge of different references in the different members' vlogs, videos etc- but they are actual friends! the members themselves have known eachother for almost a decade now and even if some are not as close as others, still know quite a lot about each other. it may be a stretch since as fans we see only see so much but if you spent most of your youth with the same guys for 2-5 years, i think becoming close is a given considering they trained together with debuting in the same group in mind.
also also, alot of the members had to take matters into their own hands (woozi starting to produce songs, hoshi and dino doing choreographies) because the company at the time is going through a bad time financially. and the members themselves know that large groups don't always stay together in such a harsh industry like theirs. so they made an extra effort into making sure that they talk through their problems for it not to cause consequences later on.

16:25 when Seventeen filmed the HIT MV, Seungkwan injured his leg so he can't film the group dance part, so he got a lil bit emotional while watching the mv for the first time, and Hoshi was trying to imitate that
I think the fact that they are acting like other members and calling each other with the name if the member they are copying really mess up his mind on who is who and the names of the members ahah
This vid was just full of inside jokes so it still might be a bit confusing even though its explained. Esp w going svt there r gonna be a lot of inside jokes they keep mentioning but you'll understand them more if u watch more edit vids
I remember the first time I watched their first anni vid I barely got any of the references but when I rewatched it a few months later I got practically everything, honestly it's not surprising they have this many inside jokes some of the members have been living together since 2010

Honestly what I like the most about your reactions is that I want to watch them many times and re-watch them just for fun. It never happened to me before (with other reactors) to want to re-watch their reactions, since well you know how they reacted. But with you since it's comedy and so entertaining by itself, well idk, I just found myself wanting to re-watch your vids once in a while even if I know the SVT content very well. Keep being yourself, it's such a joy to my days 🥰

You're correct, Samuel L Jackson is Seungkwan. The one in pink sweater is Hoshi (the one who loves tigers) but he's imitating Seungkwan that's why they called him Seungkwan :)
