I wish it would be this easy on a used gokart. I had a nightmare pulling the clutch off, it was literally welded on. Thanks for the video cleared up a lot of stuff. Should have watched it first and then start the work.
Thanks Derek, great video and of great assistance. The thrust washer and bearing stayed in the drum when I took it off and after I had thoroughly cleaned the drum the washer and bearing fell out! I had no definite idea which way around the washer needed to go so your advice here was a life saver! For what it's worth, mine's more chamfered rather than recessed, though.
Thanks! Where can I find that ring gear puller? My son has the mini rok and mini swift. Is that universal or specific to rok? Also what loctite to use. Thanks!!
Hey RA83x 👊👊 for super thanks 🙏 They these guys www.agskartparts.com.au/products/2912/clutch-puller-vortex I think the mini swift would be similar but I haven’t seen one yet. If it is IAME , then they have a similar product but it’s different to rok
Hey Dez. Could you remove both ring gear and clutch from the engine as one (retain the 3 bolts holding clutch and ring gear together), then separate the clutch from the ring gear? Or do you need to remove them both individually (use the ring gear puller also)? Thanks mate!
I have a broken shoe and i change it with a new one plus a new bell. BUT in low rpms after the kart has one session and the clutch get hot the clutch make a big noise! Any idea what can i try?
Hey Giorgoes, check the o ring isn't missing and the clutch bell doesn't have to much grease around the outside. Clean the whole thing on the inside with some brake cleaner and some clean rags.
@@PowerRepublic Thanks a lot for your answer! Everything seems perfect and i have tried all the things you suggest.. next step is to try a new clutch shoes, faulty material maybe???
I don't think so, I just googled the Rok TT clutch shoes and they don't have the same tread on them, instead they have 3 screw holes for removal, similar to the Rotax ring gear Video
get a standard one and get it machined. otherwise turn it in your battery drill and hit it with your angle grinder. Its a rough way to do it but sometimes there is no other way.
Thanks Dez. Boys mini rok just broke the clutch shoe as you decribed. This video was very helpful to replace the shoe👍
Glad it helped

Loctite for the clutch retainer nut is stud lock strength 263 and medium strength 243 for everything else. Hope that helps

What type of gasoline should I use for this engine? Thank you.
We use BP or Shell 98 octane
