i'm obsessed with olivia swearing in her songs. Some singers swear to swear but olivia's swears are not replaceable they just fit there perfectly
I love that she interpolated New Year’s Day in 1 step forward, 3 steps back! :) its different to a sample - a sample uses the master recording, whereas for interpolation you just need the song writers permission to recreate the music. Brilliant as its not using the master that Taylor doesn't own. I love it :)

I feel like the first song was meant to represent all of her angsty drama and teenage first world problems that may seem like the worst thing in the world from her linear perspective. Everything in the middle was about how she processed her terrible relationship and heartbreak. And then the last song being about her looking outward to the people she cares about that have lead terrible lives that were completely out of their control, and her realizing that her personal breakup may not be the end of the world. That’s how I saw it at least.
I just listened to the whole album and i definitely wasn't expecting brutal to be soooo good and grungy
This album is insane. She's definitely going to be around for a very long time. Also I couldn't figure out why 'Enough for you' sounded so similar and then it hit me. It sounds like safe and sound by taylor swift.

i didn't hear the "let's start over" part, but i did notice the song ending with the driver's licence tone and i absolutely love it!

For some reason, “happier” makes me think of old school 50s dances. (Maybe it’s the tempo?) I was just listening to it now and i got imagery of a 1950s school dance setting and I think that could be an interesting video. 🤷🏽♀️

Like i said in someone else's reaction - this sounds like an album made by someone who loves music and created it for the sake of music and catharsis. She did so good and I am so proud (and this feeling is wild...let's just say I'm a little older than T Swift and always feel like a proud mom when she is involved...so if Olivia is Taylor's musical spawn...am i a proud grandma!?) You can definitely tell she has a wide range of influence because i do hear so much Hole, Nirvana, Veruca Salt, Taylor Swift, Paramore...and all i can think of is how happy I am that her parents exposed her to such a wide variety.

Jealousy Jealousy is my favorite as well but I grew up a metal head/rocker in the 90s/early 2000s so it speaks to that part of me. Of course Brutal is amazing and giving me Elastica vibes. Wish JJ was higher on the charts because I’d LOVE to see that alt pop rock thing come back. I don’t even like this kind of music normally 😂 But I have daughters; 9 and 15, so we’ve been watching Olivia since the Bizardvark days and now jamming to Sour together. (Her voice shocked the crap out of me when we watched HSMTMTS last year- then Drivers License. Ugh!!) We’re going to see big things from her and I’m here for it!
