Thanks for the updates! I'm just about to do my first restoration on M112 organ with just the similar issues and you point out good hints in these videos.
You need to remove the panel the cloth is attached to. From memory(!): Remove the bottom trim and the one around the swell (sounds like both yours are missing?). The panel needs to be pulled down slightly and then, from the swell pedal cut out, carefully flex it towards you which will withdraw it from either side. It is mounted on hardboard so it will flex but then if mishandled, could break.
Yes, its a a100 but would still to know if we can not find a hammond Specialist, I live in Texas very heard to fine them, that's why I was asking you about how much time would be involved if we did it ourselves Thanks Peter.
The bottom trim was missing on mine as well, and I manufactured a new one using aluminium angle iron and spraying it with gold paint to match the other surrounds. If you are missing the swell pedal surround trim, that would be harder. There are no spares of this sort of thing! Maybe using plastic and heating it gently to bend it to shape, and then spraying gold??? Good luck!
Great vids ... I'm in the middle of working on an A101 and it's coming along great, but I can't seem to figure out how to replace the grill cloth. How is the cloth removed and replaced? Also, can't seem to find the medal piece that surrounds the volume pedal nor the piece toward the bottom of the grill cloth. Can you point me in the right direction? Great work on your grill cover, love that look!
I know this video has been posted over 10years ago but I just picked up a beautiful a100 everything works, but like yours some tones are missing on 5 keys I believe I saw when you had the keyboard lifted up out of the Cabinetand and saw some wires were cut off, I'm guessing you Did some sodering, did that fix it? And if so is that what I need to do to fix mine problem regarding tones??? Thanks!!!
Are the same tones missing off both manuals? If so, it could be a broken wire at the tone generator. If it is missing off the lower manual only,it could be a broken wire udner the lower manual. If the same missing tone is present on another drawbar it could be a foam problem depending on the age of the organ. That's a whole other issue!
@@Peter0656 yes, on all 4 drawbars tones are missing, it Doesn't sound like good new huh, how long do I have Doc lol well you know before all of them go out on me? paid $550 For it from a Church, it's a 1965 I heard about some of these organs having foaming issues, I was Optimistic about this one because of the condition this Organ, meaning its been we'll taken care of by the looks of it, Would you advise me to return it? There very nice ppl I believe thet will refund me back my money if it's Pretty much unfixable or very expensive to fix?
@@Peter0656 what would you Recommend?? Defoaming it? and leave it as is?? Like I've mentioned in the other comments, it still plays, and sound good, I could live with out the other tones, Give me a short answer if you don't mind, I would appreciate any help thanks Peter!
@@johnnovie3168 Foam disintegrates and attacks wiring at different rates in different organs depending on age and environmental conditions. What is clear is that ultimately it is not good news. In an ideal world you should always have it removed, preferably by a competent Hammond technician. I am in the UK so can't advise you about USA, but if you get on to the various on-line Hammond forums, they will probably be able to point you to the one nearest to you. You didn't pay a lot for the organ, so worth doing to preserve it for the future imho.
I import parts from the States. You'll see a lot of my parts on ebay.co.uk. See also swmusicservices.co.uk. If you are not fixed up yet, I can order some in. Let me know.

Good luck with it.... and M112 is a good organ put through a decent Leslie.
