It's not hard, LA is an urban planning hellscape (I lived there, lol) I don't know if people pick up on this, but a lot of OTV&F are positive about density and public transport, it's kind of heart warming, but it's completely understandable. If you walk by the side of the street in LA, people think you're crazy or destitute.

Zoning laws have not even don an adequate job of protecting people from industrial waste and pollution, as the pollution spill from industrial centers is often a dozen miles in size.

Japan is like on of the best places to live in if you don't have to participate in the traditional work culture and already have a partner.

I love in Berlin and I can’t imagine being happy in America. Just from the standpoint of a walkable city with 30+ parks in a 10km radius and an amazing public transport system. I’m happy to say that I will never need a car for day to day travel.
