Way too difficult a choice! Top 3 are probably Sombra, Ashe, and Doomfist.
this cinematic always get me crying... :)
yeaaaah me too
For real I cry every single time 😢it's so good
Same lmfao i feel embarassed that I was crying 😂
Same. Even when I know what's gonna happen, I still tear up
i never expected to cry at a overwatch cinematic
A small detail I always enjoyed about this cinematic is how they use Japanese sign language and not American sign language. another one is that if you go frame by frame on 6:38 you see the blue glow in her eyes 'focus' like you see how the glow moves from surrounding her pupil, to concentrating in her pupil as she makes her physical movement. and the last kinda small thing I wanted to point out is around 8:34 where you see the camera angle go from one of the mom's shoulders and pass over to the other, while technically a breaking of the 180 rule, it's purposeful as a 'change of perspective' camera angle, signifying the mom changing her mind about Kiriko from the beginning of the story.
The thing I love about Kiriko as a character is that while she can fight, shes extremely capable... she has that nature about her which is lifting up her community, this is shown perfectly with her ultimate. while she says the area is under her protection, what she does in practice is empowers those around to defend themselves, to not let themselves be victimized. shes not saving them, shes helping them save each other.
Something I wanted to mention: in deaf culture it's important when signing to someone to vocalize your words for non deaf individuals around you. Similar to how it could be considered rude to speak privately in another language in front of someone, or even to speak only vocally in front of someone deaf, it's polite to be inclusive in the conversation, and both sign and voice your words and signs so that everyone deaf or not can be included. The fact that they got this right is so amazing.
It's also because many people in the deaf community read lips. Speaking the words ensures you are giving the correct mouth shapes to the words, which in turn provides additional information to the person for whom you're signing, because signing is not one-to-one with spoken language. Many things like articles are taken out and have to be assumed.
wow... I just forget how amazing this animation is! OMG... so many tears! :)
So much of what I love about this short is that it's like... what if a Japanese horror movie's supernatural being was actually the hero? Like... it is very interesting that you point out the hero framing on the gangsters, especially since their lighting is very bright and showy, compared to when Kiriko is going to town on them, and everything is so much darker. It does a lovely job of subverting expectations with that fight scene. I would say that this is unequivocally my favorite Overwatch cinematic XD
Most supports either give their power to the team, or overload their own abilities. Quick rundown: Baptiste opens a "window" where all shots fired through deal double damage and/or double healing, Ana empowers another teammate granting 50% bonus damage and 50% damage reduction (her ult doesn't even affect her), Brigitte starts stacking "overhealth" on anyone near her, Lucio provides overhealth instantly, but with a decaying effect, Kiriko creates a "hallway" which increases attack speed and movement speed, Zenyatta achieves transcendence healing at the highest rates in the game for anyone nearby, Moira unloads a beam which heals friendlies while damaging enemies. Supports are often make or break for a team.
Kiriko’s mother trained Genji and Hanzo from the Dragons cinematic.
When the grandfather gets shot the screen flashes "bang". I've watched this cinematic so many times but this was my first time noticing the word.
They also got a "tatatata" (japanese character for gunshots) on the rifle being shot & "Thunk" word along the axe the little girl throws at the gangster in the elevator.
This intro does a really good job of integrating her in game abilities into the story.
Oh yay, you got around to this! I still tear up every time I watch this short, her interaction with the little girl is just so wholesome
I get chills every time I watch this trailer
When her mother says that she "judged her donuts too harshly" is because Kitsune (humans possessed by fox spirits) notoriously crave sweets.
THIS IS MY FAVORITE CINEMATIC! I used to have a best friend that was deaf in middle school such fun memories, and the piano and mom crying it's just so feel good and nice... I'm not crying your crying
Hoping you see the Sojurn trailer you'd love it :D
i played her song in loop while playing overwatch 2
so good!
I need more Overwatch stuff from you!
aww cute cinematic and the action was insane, loved the breakdown as usual
If only those corporate suits at the top cared as much about the game as the animation team
the thing she summmons is her ult kitsune rush people in it have increased damage and take less damage
They don't take less damage or do more.
Kitsune halves their cooldown timers and doubles their attack/ heal usage speeds, so whilst you might get more healing in the rush, you're not actually taking less damage, and whilst you might deal damage faster, you're not actually dealing more per attack.
Overwatch should make an Animated series
Kiriko's mom isn't a playable character (yet) but obviously she's a character in the story of Overwatch.
Yeah, I'll wager she's coming.
Rip overwatch cinematics...
Pausing at 16:57 made me lose my shit 😂😂😂😂😂😂
i play this game every day first time seeing that full seen was sick im not crying as a 34 yo man lol
I may not be a fan of Blizzard anymore, but always gotta admit their cinematics team knows how to make a cinematic.
PLEASE react to Junker Queen trailer next. I think you'll really like that one
Nothing is more scary then kids screaming like crazy! LOL
If only the game was as good as the cinematics…
😢
It is though
Kirikos ULTIMATE is a AOE buff that increase the damage your enemies take from ally attacks and increases thier movement speed.
So, she makes her allies faster and hit harder.
Increased attack speed, not dmg
@@mutawi increased attack speed means you’re doing damage at a faster pace and the enemy is taking more damage in the same amount of time…. So that would technically be increased damage
It also refreshes all teammates' cooldowns sooner
@@StandDefiant18its not a damage buff, but a dps buff
