This has become one of my ritual on my lunch break at work; watching whatever new video you have. I find your videos to be relaxing. The esthetics of your bujo is so dreamy, I love it. I am trying to apply what you do in my penpal letters and I was wondering if you have any advice on calligraphy? Yours have a shakespearian romantic feel to it and I would love to be able to practice more. Thank you for sharing. 🌸🌸
Thank you so much, Hélène!💕 That’s such a big compliment, I’m so happy to keep you company during your lunch break🥰 As for calligraphy advice - I’ve practiced A LOT with smaller brush pens (like the Fudenosuke hard tip and the Uni pin fineline brush). That way I had a lot more control, and I’d practice writing words small. I didn’t really feel comfortable with using big brush pens for handlettering until very recently!🙈 More area to cover, more chances to mess up hahah! Sometimes I also write the word veeeery lightly with a pencil first, to kind of see the flow of the letters before I use the brush pen☺️

For your "k", start like a "h" or a "b" but curl in a little higher than the "b" for the top and do an inflexion rather than a swoop motion at the bottom (Idk if that is clear at all sry)

🌸 I was surprised by the balancing effect the tracker page brought by using blue! My eyes just kind of eased into the spread like a weary body into a hot bath. Kind of comforting. Also, just you outlining around the labels you pasted over your trackers made such a huge difference! I would never think of that! (So how are we non-artists supposed to learn to letter K’s when the artist Hedda finds them intimidating? 😂 You can do it! 💪🏻) 🌸 Ganbatte!

I am rather late 😂 I was just bored and I love cherry blossoms and the month april so I decided to watch this😅. And also the way I write k’s is well I start writing an l but the hook at the bottom goes the other way (to the left) if that makes sense and then a little bit below the middle of the “l” I do a short diagonal line upwards (to the right) and under that a kind of curved diagonal line going downwards (to the right) and that same line is what connects to the other letters. I don’t know if that makes any sense but I hope it helped
