I do like Fox, but even with Fox, our shooting will still be sus. Cam shouldn't be looked as a 'sweetner', because as the salary gets expensive in HOU. It's tough to find a spacer at that cheap rookie contract. From a team composition stand point, i would offer up Reed before offering Cam. (and i like Reed).
I think it was fair. The Kings have an elite guy that is a great player in Fox. They have one shot to kickstart their struggling team, nevertheless still very talented team. But the Rockets are currently a top 6 team with their 3 point shots not falling, and still making too many mistakes. Hence the Rockets aren’t in any hurry to deal away the team that is extremely deep. The Rockets are young and their young players keep getting better every game they play. What is good is that the Rockets have a plethora of highly talented players many teams covet.

If the rockets young core stays together, they can build chemistry and sustain winning for a much longer period. For example, the Golden State Warriors, and Boston Celtics. How quickly people forgot there were rumors that Tatum and Brown needed to be broken up for the Celtics to be successful. Yes , Jalen is an inconsistent streaky shooter , but he is elite at finishing around the rim. Shot selection is JG’s biggest problem. However, he is coachable. His improved defense is a perfect example. Development is not a straight line. It may take some players longer than others to reach their full potential. However, along with those peaks and valleys JG has shown how incredible is peaks/potential can be. JG has improved each year . He has Slowly but surely shown improvement. His biggest improvements have come around the second half of the season. Consistently comes with repetition , so I say to rockets fans, Jackson , and the front office please have patience !!!!! You don’t need t mortgage the future, but just be patient.
I like Amen. But I haven’t seen Superstar potential? Great defender who is athletic. He can’t shoot and he doesn’t facilitate like a playmaker. Can he grow into that? Maybe but you barely see that in the NBA where a player grows so much in so many different areas. Also he is not a scorer. I don’t even see he reaching Westbrook level offensively

Let’s see Amen Thompson Win share for the season is 3.2 and Fox’s win share is 3.4 (that is comparable). Amen true shooting percentage is 60.9%. Fox true shooting percentage is 58.6%. Amen is 22 years old Fox is 27 years old. Amen Defensive win share is 1.8 vs 1.1 for Fox. Though Fox has a 2.2 vs a 1.3 Offensive Win share. Amen Thompson is a unicorn and keeps getting better every game. He plays about 2/3 the minutes Fox plays, thus projects to a higher WS. So comparing Amen vs Fox is not delusional. But everyone agrees that Fox is a top tier player. Amen Thompson has MVP game in him, and that will be special when he unlocks it.

Rockets has to trade Green or Sengun. I get it they are friends, young and the team waits for their connection but year 4 and we still don't see any improvement between them because both of them have completely different basketball's style when Green starts to play Alpi is turning to role player, when Alpi starts to play Green is turning to role player. Green needs a rim protector type big Alpi needs a Murray type guard, it's not even good for team's offence too maybe that's why offence is sucks because people are confused what kind of offence they will play with them..
I understand you have to give to get, but there is no way Amen is involved in this deal. I don't think I'd trade Amen for many players right now if any. I get that sounds crazy, but he has immense upside.
Realistically Trading amen would be insane. I think his ceiling Is just too high to trade. A guy who could potentially guard 1-3 maybe 4 and who honestly looks like he could just play 48 minutes. Lol I'm with that, but I'd prefer guys that impact the game on both ends. Jalen Green and Cam Whitmore just don't fit the bill from that standpoint. Both are guys that, if their shots are falling, everything is good. Now, when their shots aren't falling, and u can't stop your man on the other end, it completely wrecks games. Especially if Alpi and other guys aren't having their best games either. Ideally, I think Ime wants a roster full of 2 Way guys. Guys that, even if u aren't scoring a bunch, you're able to neutralize your man on the defensive end. That'll balance a game out to where the better team will literally win. Winning teams make winning plays on both ends. Winning teams have all the intangibles. I said all that to say I'd most definitely include Jalen Green and Cam Whitmore in any trade proposal.

The reason I'm reluctant to just give away any of core 7 is based on where I project them. Keep in mind other than Tari they are all under 23 years old. I don't think any of them are at their peak yet or close to their peaks. Fox is at his peak. Reed= projects as a more athletic better shooting version of FVV - an all-star at peak Smith Jr.- projects as a version of Jared Jackson Jr- all-star at peak and all-defensive team player Cam = Jason Richardson- all-out scorer. Had to come comment on this- Multiple times Matt mentioned “leverage” that the Rockets had and then kept proceeding to ignore said leverage. What he doesn’t get is that if the Kings demand Amen, Jabari, Tari, etc. then the Rockets just say ok no thanks and call the Suns. Second, assuming Matt represents the King’s fanbase, I’d ask what truly is the plan if they trade Fox in their eyes? Starters: Fox, Green, Brooks, SmithJr, Sengun. Off the bench: Thompson, Whitmore, Adams. I'm not moving SmithJr or Thompson in any mock trade. By the way, funny how most other fanbases have SmithJr in much higher regard than our own fanbase. I've seen this type of comments from many other teams. The 'Rockets can wait - can the Kings? Those Suns picks are most valuable to the Suns if you trade them you trade them to the Suns. Devin Booker will almost assuredly become a Rocket at some point in the future. The only way you trade these picks is if you think Fox is better than Booker. Get Booker first - trade for Fox later if the Kings can't make a deal with someone else.Honestly, Fox will only come to Houston if he can demand it. Stone becomes GM of the year if you can end up with Fox and Booker.

Me personally I wouldn’t trade Jalen, I think his upside is potentially bigger than Alpi’s. I think The kings would also accept FVV, Jabari, Cam and Reed if Houston wanted to pair Jalen and Fox. IMO Houston shouldn’t trade any of their young core let them grow in Houston like okc did with all their draft picks. The only players okc added to their team that weren’t drafted were role players like Hartenstein and Caruso. Star players cost a lot to obtain through a trade.

Here's the reality, we're still in development phase. We need to get Cam 20 minutes off the bench per night, no excuses...he needs to develop his shot, because currently putting all our bags in one basket with Jalen Green isnt cutting it. We need to find consistency PERIOD. We also need to start running the offense through Reed Shepard a couple minutes per game instead of giving the rock a majority of the times to Van Fleet/Green . Emphasize development...we are not the Thunder, so it doesn't matter if keep a high seeding or not. We just need to make the playoffs and find our offensive identity with players that we've drafted for the long run. We don't need Fox. We don't need Booker (at least for now). We don't need Giannis.
Stone is not going to over pay for fox. They made the pick trades for a purpose, otherwise why do it? Fox is not going to make us better than the celtics or a fully fit okc. I would rather have Booker instead of Fox if the asking price is significantly cheaper for Booker. I'd rather leave with Booker and still some of our assets/young players as opposed to getting Fox for all of our picks and numerous young players.
The longer the Kings hold on to Fox, the less leverage they have in the trade market. I would normally say it was a dirty move, but the Rockets need to put Fred Van Fleet as the key piece of the trade. Fred one prospect and picks. No, Fox is not "it". Have you seen how it ended with Coach Brown. Also, with that level of a player, you'll need a year or two or more to develop chemistry with the other players. Chemistry is important. I say, wait till the season ends.

Two Firsts Reed Cam Jalen or Fred would be my offer. But with the Kings and with their problems on defense I have a feeling they would want Jabari. Not willing to trade Jabari because his shooting is starting to look good and his defense especially at the rim is also pretty good. I think the host misses out the point of focusing on what fox is actually worth and just focuses on what houston could offer. there is no way that a trade that includes amen for fox happening. fox is not worth a player that is DPOY candidate in his second year. cam/green/fvleet/db are the only players that can be traded imo. Also, I think he misses out the fact that Sac is the side of the trade that is desperate for the trade. They have a system that is not functioning now, and houston in return is getting in a risk. If the rockets young core stays together, they can build chemistry and sustain winning for a much longer period. For example, the Golden State Warriors, and Boston Celtics. How quickly people forgot there were rumors that Tatum and Brown needed to be broken up for the Celtics to be successful. Yes , Jalen is an inconsistent streaky shooter , but he is elite at finishing around the rim. Shot selection is JG’s biggest problem. However, he is coachable. His improved defense is a perfect example. Development is not a straight line. It may take some players longer than others to reach their full potential. However, along with those peaks and valleys JG has shown how incredible is peaks/potential can be. JG has improved each year . He has Slowly but surely shown improvement. His biggest improvements have come around the second half of the season. Consistently comes with repetition , so I say to rockets fans, Jackson , and the front office please have patience !!!!! You don’t need t mortgage the future, but just be patient.

I like Amen. But I haven’t seen Superstar potential? Great defender who is athletic. He can’t shoot and he doesn’t facilitate like a playmaker. Can he grow into that? Maybe but you barely see that in the NBA where a player grows so much in so many different areas. Also he is not a scorer. I don’t even see he reaching Westbrook level offensively

Amen is 22 years old Fox is 27 years old. Amen Defensive win share is 1.8 vs 1.1 for Fox. Though Fox has a 2.2 vs a 1.3 Offensive Win share.
Amen Thompson is a unicorn and keeps getting better every game. He plays about 2/3 the minutes Fox plays, thus projects to a higher WS.

I get it they are friends, young and the team waits for their connection but year 4 and we still don't see any improvement between them because both of them have completely different basketball's style when Green starts to play Alpi is turning to role player, when Alpi starts to play Green is turning to role player. Both are guys that, if their shots are falling, everything is good. Now, when their shots aren't falling, and u can't stop your man on the other end, it completely wrecks games. Especially if Alpi and other guys aren't having their best games either. Ideally, I think Ime wants a roster full of 2 Way guys. Guys that, even if u aren't scoring a bunch, you're able to neutralize your man on the defensive end. That'll balance a game out to where the better team will literally win. Winning teams make winning plays on both ends. Winning teams have all the intangibles. I said all that to say I'd most definitely include Jalen Green and Cam Whitmore in any trade proposal.

Multiple times Matt mentioned “leverage” that the Rockets had and then kept proceeding to ignore said leverage. What he doesn’t get is that if the Kings demand Amen, Jabari, Tari, etc. then the Rockets just say ok no thanks and call the Suns.
Second, assuming Matt represents the King’s fanbase, I’d ask what truly is the plan if they trade Fox in their eyes? Because if your team is trading their best player and ultimately the best player in the trade, then they are NOT competing anymore.

The longer the Kings hold on to Fox, the less leverage they have in the trade market. I would normally say it was a dirty move, but the Rockets need to put Fred Van Fleet as the key piece of the trade. Fred one prospect and picks. idk what he's talking about rn, if you are trading fox you are definitely going rebuild.. he even said he is your best player, someone has to "lose" (per say) this trade just like every trade, one side looks better then the other. that's just how it works. on top of that, the rockets have the leverage of 1. fox seems to go to Houston then most place, 2. fox not signing extension, 3. having the best offer, 4. kings are the on receiving the piece for the rebuild, 5. rockets having some of the best picks in the league with suns and nets picks.. so in a rebuild most players that are young are gonna be "unproven but high upside" players.. you can't expect to get one of the best our best players in this scenario, now to also be fair i think amen and sengun are the only ones. an absolutely see Jabari needing to go or something. lastly fox isn't a supper star player like a PG to clips, or KD, or Harden, etc.. you can't expect to get a crazy package for him as such, he is also not super young, he'll be 28 in 2025.. so can't treat him as a young star/superstar in the making. he is what he is already, just a star player.. you go back and look at other just star level players, the package is like, one or 2 starters that are expiring or players with a little bit of upside (or like one of both), 2-5 picks depending on the talent, and if need another player to make salary match.
so with that being said i'd say a trade would like:

I’m only halfway through this video but this dude saying we have to include amen is asinine. He’s making the point of why we don’t have to include amen in the same breath: Kings don’t want a full on rebuild. Picks are not the main thing to them. Who’s gonna give them players on the level of Shepherd/Cam/Jalen or whoever??? PLUS picks? And he has the balls to demand Amen? They are really solid friends for sure but sadly i have hard time to see their chemistry on court. Jalen's playstyle is more like not sharing the ball too much. At least last game was promising. let's see what future will bring

Booker is the better fit for this team. Give them Jalen Green and there first round picks back. Picking up fox means we given up on Reed. I would like for Reed to step in that vanvleet position next year. Booker/Reed/Amen Cam/Brooks at sf and Eason/Jabari/sengun at the 4/5.
