Unamuno was actually the author who brought me back to philosophy after abandoning it for a master in romance studies. Being a german hispanist, there is something absolutely captivating about his synthesis of romance and germanic traditions. Thank you so much for your work. I recently donated 10€ to you. Something that I have never done for any other UA-cam personality.
I found this because a character in episode 4 of Picard was reading it. For the last three years I've been listening to your videos when I go out for a walk in the morning. Seems like I will never run out of videos to watch.
Well, if you do run out, you could always start them again! It is indeed quite an underrated book - cool to find out that it's making its way into TV in some way
Thank You. I was reading a thriller "Lucia" from Bernard Minier, & one of the character at some point of the investigation as ,a professor of criminolgie at Salamanque university leads a class of brains young internationnal sercheurs. As a joke one say... " sexe alcool & unamuno" that makes me curious so i fall on you prof. Good sense of tragidy😉
@@GregoryBSadler what about this spoke Zarathustra? It feels like it especially when you mention how the tragic sense of life compels us to slay the hydra and stay in the life of someone who's unlovable not out of obligation but to embrace the journey we are on. If this isn't correct may you say why. Thanks :)

That is very cool - how did Unamuno bring you back to philosophy?
Thanks for that donation!
I really appreciate this new format where you discuss the core concepts of these magnificent thinkers. Thank you Gregory!
You're very welcome!
New is a bit relative. I think I've produced around 750 of these now

These videos are great! They will definitely help me with my essay! Thank you, Dr. Sadler!
I'm glad to read that someone is reading Unamuno!
This was very interesting. I will definitely read this book in its entirety.

Perhaps we should discover the meaning of our lives so that it can carry us or overcome tragedies that life will present to us.
Yes, that's a good insight
Correct me if I'm wrong but this sounds a lot like the will to power by nitczhe
I will correct you. It is not

Nah. Just reread the books and think about how they differ rather than the similarities you see
I am his grandson
Great grandson
That's nice. What do you have to say about his philosophy, the text, or the video?
