Facts! The kid is already a legend! I can tell ya first hand from living in Wisconsin all my life, the amount of joy and life he has brought to Milwaukee is crazy! I have never seen that city shining as bright as it is now.
Giannis antetokounmpo is a 2x league MVP,2x defensive player of the year, most improved player, all star game MVP,nba finals MVP and he'd led the Bucks to it's first NBA title since 1971(ended their 50 years drought)
As someone who is born and raised in Milwaukee it was amazing to see Giannis and Middleton get a ring. We as a city saw them grow up before our eyes. I cried when they won. Happy cry caus after all that hard work and heartbreak they finally did it. Only a fan but was super proud for them
There's also something this video didn't show: his willingness to accept failure and keep trying to overcome it (or his lack of fear regarding failure). There's a video of him during this year's playoff where he told PJ Tucker (his teammate): I airballed two freethrows in 4th quarter, I got shutdown in 4th quarter, I lost playoff series leads before, I can't fall any lower. That's also what makes Giannis unique: he will not accept failure, but he will not intentionally avoid the risk of failure, if it means getting what he wanted (be it victory or championship). That's something that's hard to teach to most people.
The fact that Giannis is only 26 and is already a two time MVP, DPOY, five time All Star + one All Star MVP, MIP, five time All NBA and four time All Defensive, plus Champ and Finals MVP is absolutely mind boggling. In 10 years time he's gonna be considered GOAT.
@@iancaterial1235 Giannis’ peak value far exceeds Dirk’s and he already has more accolades at 26 than Dirk had accumulated over his entire 20 year career longevity is the only career metric Giannis trails Dirk in, and yet its not entirely far fetched or premature to rank him higher at this point
The loyalty to Greece reflects his loyalty to Milwaukee. If he was drafted elsewhere, he would’ve tried to do the same. For him, it doesn’t matter who he plays for, he just wants to play his hardest and provide for his family.

Same goes for Greece, any child born and raised in Greece, is Greek citizen. The difference is that his parents had no papers cause entered Greece illegaly, so all this made the process complicated, and Greek state is known for bureaucracy for all Greeks.
Even right now I am still amazed at how he managed to essentially walk out of that knee injury he suffered late in the WCF. Really thought that spelled the end for the Bucks but nope and when the Freak returned for Game 1 in the Finals (even if they lost the game) he didn't seem to miss a beat. Not a Bucks fan but that was a really good Finals series to watch, admittedly the first good one in quite some time IMO.

Forgot to mention maybe one of the most impactful stats-Giannis, after getting some much needed nutrition and some NBA vitamins, grew three inches and put on nearly 30 lbs of muscle.
This piece while really excellent it’s not long enough. I’m absolutely not criticizing the channel they have only so much time to devote to an individual especially one that lives and plays in Milwaukee.
You mention the fact that Giannis was not a citizen of Greece until he turned 18 years old. I believe that’s the case in every country in Europe. My ancestors had been in the United States for over 100 years and they were not citizens yet and even after they was promising citizenship we were still fighting for full citizenship during the civil right movement. So what is your point?
The nba scouts in 2013 completely messed up. Sometimes it's about will and determination rather than talent. Giannis had that dog in him to always keep improving, whereas the other talents in that draft either were busts or decent players but nowhere near as good as giannis.
Sort for the second reply. So who thinks the 8 thumbs down are people who watched this thinking if Anthony Davis wasn’t hurt this would have been about LeBron somehow.
So a Nigerian or any countries citizen can just go to another country to have they're baby like a lady from the Congo can go to Hawaii to have they're kid and they're baby automatically becomes a US citizen? Or should the baby be a citizen of the country they're parent is citizen of doesn't that make most sense?
The reason he couldn't get a Greek citizenship was that his parents had travelled illegally and not legally.Same thing would have happened to a Greek couple if they went undocumented to Nigeria for the rest of their lives
This is so well done but why are you acting like Greece, a country in dire financial debt, didn't totally take in and take care of Gianni's and his totally random foreign family?
