Baburao Pendharkar | Raga Arabi & Raga Hamsadwani [P. 5684]

Very rare rendition by Baburao Pendharkar of Raga Arabi and Raga Hamsadwani probably from Marathi Natak (Drama) Maanapamaan dating back to around 1925 (evidence needed).
This 78 rpm Shellac seems to have been recorded directly using a Horn (acoustical) without any electrical amplifier or accessories. We are not able to exactly date this record but looking at the HMV serial number this may be been produced between 1920 - 1925. Enjoy this excellent rendition.

Yes this is an Acoustical recording,, electrical recording started with P - 7366, in 1926 and Rabindra nath Tagore was first to record.
