You get up Thursday morning, have a coffee, walk the dog and then become possessed with a sudden and overpowering urge to record a version of You Can Call Me Al.
8 string baritone uke, tenor uke, melodica and singing.
The melodica makes this version next level in every way. This will always be one of my fave songs of all time ever. So glad I caught it! All the best! 🌟🌟🌟

Cheers, Del! The melodica was a very late addition. It just wasn't happening with the two ukes so it needed something...I even considered a kazoo for approximately 0.001 of a second!
I was waiting for one particular high harmony on the melodica. It came one time at the very end.

@@VoxRox Ha! Yeah...I was planning on doing that earlier but then I distracted by someone banging about upstairs and forgot to change. Then I panicked and just stuck one in right at the end. As usual, I simply couldn't be bothered to do it again! Glad you enjoyed it!

I love that song but would have struggled to figure out how to cover it. The melodica worked well covering the horns. All the stuff from the Graceland period was really good and drastically different from Paul Simon. Great job on this Bob.
@@chrisfrazer1830 Cheers, Chris! I think the key thing here was that I didn't spend much time trying to figure it out. I just kinda winged it and added stuff as I went along. Turns out it's a song that I just onow all the words to so I just went at it. At first it was just going to be the two ukes but it felt a little flat. The melodica was sitting in a corner gathering dust so figured I'd chuck that in. Glad you think it turned out ok! I'm a fan of your big productions and your comment means a lot. Cheers!

AWESOMENESS!!! The melodica is perfect for this! I really enjoyed this one so much! drinking my morning soy milk and smiling like an idiot here. What program or app did you use for the multitrack/video again, Bobby? I think you told me once ages ago and now i can't remember.
@@piekia Thank you, Joo! Glad it made you smile! I use an app on my phone called YouCut. It seems to do everything that I need and I've become reasonably proficient at using it. There's probably fancier/better apps out there but it suits my needs.
