Couple tips for when modifying.. start with exhaust first. Intake manifold is extremely restrictive, but that’s also what provides its torque. Pre cats are also restrictive. For exhaust I would suggest long tube headers, x pipe, no pre cats, aftermarket magnaflow main cat, and any catback of your choosing. I see it’s an auto so a higher stall torque converter around 2000-2600 and a shift kit will massively improve the vehicle. It’ll run hot so I suggest a 180 thermostat and a throttle body coolant bypass. Do any free mods you can like the frisbee mod etc. when it comes to tuning the car get a mail order tune from pcm of nc and you’ll be SET! I have a 1990 auto and I’m telling you the car is a completely different monster when you improve the tranny and exhaust. The diff on yours is the Dana 36 so it’s weak. If you have the time and money switch to a Dana 44 with 3.07 gears and you’ll be set. You won’t be able to make much power if you keep snapping your diff. The forums will have all the knowledge you need. I wish you the best of luck.

Not sure how you're gonna break the rear with street tires no matter how much power you add😂 I added all the larger intake parts that exist plus a large camshaft...the wheels spin when I shift at 6000rpm at 45mph with 315's on the back and my 3:45 ratio Dana 36 😂nothing's breaking dude 😂
I had one just like this, 1st the dash stopped working , then the cost of painting, then the top shattered in my had taking it off on a hot day. After that the tranmission went. Then it needed tires " Just a Money Pit". Good Luck! You will need it , with lots of cash you don't know what to do with.
Mine was the red with the tan interior too.. just so ya know, a black carpet kit is worth the time and energy. New seats with harnesses take the rest of the tan out. C6 wheels look amazing on these cars and fit well with some spacers. (1.5" on the rears and 1.25" on the front if I remember right). Im gonna subscribe and keep up with your build! Not a bad car. As a c4 guy, off first glance I can tell you it had a cheap maaco respray or something, not the original rims (those came off an 84' or 85', after market injectors (despite being chewed up). Also, previous owner might've done something kinda weird and put a headliner on the transparent roof panel. or maybe its just a faded black roof panel. Thatd be neat to check out. Check your RPOs for CC3 or something of the nature. Thats for the blue tinted transparent roof panel. Hope to see more progress on this car soon. Also, very important, make sure your fuel system is good. dont start it with any bad gas at all in there. ---- cheers, owner of 85' & 94' C4.

@@grandregion yeah man, if I had to make a suggestion, c5 rims look good on C4s, but for budget, c4 rims ain’t bad. Falcon has good 245/R16s for those rims, about 90$/tire new.

Some handling upgrades I've seen, Vansteel makes mighty fine of coilovers for this car, as well as a front chassis stiffening bar. Vette2vsettes makes a body flex kit which also stiffens everything up nicely. corbeau A4 seats are about the only racing seats that fit in there
@@grandregion one you remove emissions equipment, spare tire and those enormous cats, and assuming you have powered seats, you can expect to shed I'd say 100 lbs. If you're gonna be doing SCCA official stuff then definitely remove the carpet because fire reasons. What's even your budget and plan for this
Bride Low Max's fit very nice in mine. But ive been drooling over low max's since the fast and furious days so i couldnt help it. A nice steering wheel does the interior WONDERS. I will probably get alot of hate over it, but im also in the process of building a chassis mount big wing for it. Also, for budget- C6 wheels look very nice with a lil help from some spacers and i found the set with nice tires for $500, the chrome solid 5 spokes. The biggest thing I can say for C4s, is they are C4s- the best under rated track car for the money so dont be afraid to cut/drill/ and make things fit, I cant begin to understand corvette purists that go on and on about C4s and keeping them stockish. I say, make it a fun race car and do what you want!
@@btchn98integra my goal with mine is to make it both nice to drive and nice to track, once I find a way to get around smog in this awful state I can get some real weight reduction done along with a good exhaust, after that I'm saving up for some Vansteel coilovers
Thanks for posting the resto project. C4 with the digital dash is my fav. Some friendly advise, the closer one is to the object they are videoing (interiors), slow down the camera movements. Slow and steady allows one to be able to focus on the subject and makes it much more enjoyable for the viewers. You have a great channel, I hope you get more popular.
your diff is not weak. you have a long way to go and iy will be fun. focus on getting it running right before dumping money for bald eagles. get your interior working and then diy paint it. then sell it and buy a 4+3 or zf6 car.
I disagree. The Dana 36 is very weak. He won’t be able to build much power with that diff. I do agree that he should focus on getting it running right first tho. Once they have a good baseline then do mods. They’re fun cars. I’m still in the process of restoring my modded 90 vette. Best decision I’ve ever made.

@@imjustanobody1233 ok yeah but weak is relative to the use. this is an auto 88 tpi.. very unlikely to have a huge hp gai other than headers, exhaust. that said, i know of an 86 auto that was converted to a racecar with a zf and is using the dana 36 and its been racing for 15 years with 400hp so again, all relative. i dont think the boys here with this car will ever exceed what the dana 36 can handle. if they decide to track it, they will need a manual gearbox which gets you a d40 unless u go with the 84
@Viking Trad3r I also agree about the Dana 36 both me and my brothers c4s (his being a 1995 lt1 and mine being a 1988 tpi deleted with vortec cylinder heads and a summit 1103 camshaft) have the Dana 36 and we've had no issues with our hooning. I'm sure anything under 400hp is perfectly safe for a Dana 36
Everything is available for the interior but its expensive...$400 for carpet...$500 for door panels...$400-$600 for seat covers and new foam but it looks as if the previous owner has replaced those so all you need is a new wheel...I got a racing Sparco seeing as no air bag ...really dresses up the old antiquated interior 👍
You should specify what is the purpose of this. What is the goal of this C4? budget, time frame, usage. It will both make You lives easier and viewer will have bigger understanding.

Little tip for better throttle response...set the tps voltage at .067 instead of the factory.054...pretty significant improvement 😊👍

Those wheels also come on 86's. They look good once you strip off the old clear coat with paint stripper
