Superb chat. Your attention to detail is exquisite. Enjoyed the multitude of various topics that you adeptly discussed. Such dedication. The new samplers are lovely. I was distracted (in a good way) with your home decor and the spaciousness of the lovely sitting room. Please walk Bertie often to find your inspiration. 🐕
I just rolled across your video and LOVED seeing how you laced your work. I would love a separate video of you stepping through your lacing procedure and supplies you used.
Thanks so much on the tips of mounting your pieces! I learned to do this a different way but love your tips so much better:) I will definitely use a basting stitch around my pieces for sure:))) The Sampler is beautiful too! Thank you! Love seeing you!
I have never used a basting stitch for lacing must try this... thank you for sharing your tips for the floss and silks... mine are mostly in fancy tins ... beautiful colours on this sampler.... Thank you for sharing this beautifully stitched piece... Happy stitching...
I always enjoy your video's so much Nicola. Thank you for sharing your vast knowledge and gift with us. I am currently working on Mary Brown 1765 and enjoying it so very much. Blessings....Renee
Absolutely love these sort of uploads! Thank you, it’s so interesting seeing how you do your stitching and how you store your beautiful threads and silks. Can you do please a craft room tour? Or a stitch with me type of video? Thank you so much 🌸💕
I did the same thing with my DMC floss card, cut them into strips and punched a hole in the upper corner and put them on a ring for storage. It makes it so much easier to match colours and choose colours for my own projects. I think I need to stitch 'When Thou Art Rich' you have reminded me just how pretty she is...xo
A great video with useful needlework tips. The Elizabeth Charlotte Cotton Sampler is very pretty. I will be stitching When Thou Art Rich Sampler In 2019.
Lovely video Nicola! Thank you for sharing the tips on the lacing, the basting idea is brilliant. I love the When Thou Art Rick and look forward to stitching it. Can you give me an idea of how long your reproduction patterns are generally available on Hands Across the Sea Samplers? I know you retire some of them.
Hello - I try to keep charts active (excluding limited editions) but when we release more reproductions for Nashville in March 2019 we will have to retire some to make room for the new booklets. Storage is a huge issue for me.
I use basting stitches to mark my centres and sometimes even quarter marks as pins have a habit of moving for me. I also mark the back of the mountboard and then match them up. I use pins to hold and then I use masking tape or framing tape to stick the linen to the mountboard and then take out the pins. I figure if it doesn't last decades, someone else can deal with it. I am using vintage frames and framing myself rather than investing in a professional framer. Maybe I would lace if they were going to a professional framer. I also baste lines on the linen where it hits the edge of the mountboard so it gives me another guide.
Hi Nicola, always enjoy your videos and love the new sampler. I wanted to let you and your viewers know that I have a video called "How to lace your needlework" that may be helpful for up close detailed instruction. Happy stitching! :) Janet
Beautiful sampler. You may need to be closer to your recording device as I could not hear which is disappointing. I don't have this problem with other videos on my laptop. Just thought you would want to know. Thank you for sharing the beautiful sampler. Happy stitching.
Nicola!!! You really need to learn to speak louder or buy a betterxaudio unit. This is ridiculous. Opened this vid and cant hear a thing. I really wanted to hear about the new sampler.
My computer, mobile, phone, tablet. I think you are too far away from your microphone when you are recording. I have noticed someone else has also made a comment about this too! Hope it gets sorted because I love watching your videos as they are very informative. Thank you.

Nancy Dubin have you tried listening on a different device? This video’s sound track is audible on all the devices I have tested it on.

Very bad sound quality. Even on full volume! I gave up listening I'm afraid. Sorry.
Tracey Salt What sort of device are you listening on. This video’s audio plays clearly on every device I have

I do not understand why it should be for you and the other lady. I am sorry.
