When it comes to the Mechanical Bakugan, it's a draw for me between Subterra Dryoid and Haos Boriates on which is my favourite one - both in designs and how badass they look. It's a shame though that Volt never got to use Boriates and Brontes at the same time together, and that both Boriates and Volt ended up being trapped in that little prison of Hydron's. Probably my favourite battle with Boriates was the one when he was merged with Dynamo, and teamed with Carlvelt against Shun and Baron. It was arguably Boriates's strongest showing, outside of its final battle with Dryoid.
volt is dead, it's heavily implied (cause of censorship) that anyone caught in that grenade type thing dies given that hydron says he'll see lync and volt soon before he dies with zenoheld in the BT system

I blame Mylene being an edgy bitch and Zenoheld's Assail Formation abuse. That said the robot Bakugan being soulless weapons (Dryoid seemingly growing a soul never being answered is weird) made for victory above all else feel like the bad season of Medabots. Hell Volt and the edgy fat kid from the bad season of Medabots have the same English VA.
Well, battle gears (except in Helios's case) and mechtogans are natural weapons, born in the evolution process while mechanical bakugan are made by men and are not natural.

Tbf, for an in universe explanation Clay did create all of the Mechanical Bakugan in Arc 2 and he did get multiple up close looks at Baliton's abilities, wouldn't surprise me if he decided it was one of the stronger Trap Bakugan and decided to create his own lol
