Great video. The Polycom phones all have this hidden/special way to reset the phone to factory using the MAC when you dont know the Admin pass. That final screen after boot up where it asks for a new pass is a standard thing on later software versions so it forces you to change from the basic 456.
glad it helped. I was confounded by it for awhile before I figured it out, so I figured it called for making a video to share with others. thanks for watching! :-)
I am new to the phones but ordered them for use with Google Voice Workspace (GVW). I did notice that it requires the OBi edition firmware to work with GVW. After resetting the admin password, if needed, I assume I will be able to access the web interface to change the firmware?
Just walked a tech through with this vid after 456, 789, 72227, and the MAC address didn't work for the admin pw but this vid came through! Y'all are making phones ring and dreams come true!
Never mind. I found the answer. Unfortunate that I cannot recover the password without having to do a factory reset. The gal who originally set up the phone is no longer with the company. Are there any other reasonably priced business phone vendors for a small business that you would recommend?
For phone hardware. I have had good luck with Metroline Direct. For cloud hosted VoIP (the service), VoIP.MS is pretty good and very reasonably priced. But the setup can be a little on the technical side.
Any suggestions for a backlight not working properly? VVX350 worked perfectly until I moved it desks. Tried the phone at other ports and now does not light up properly. I can see the menu options when phone is powering up, but it is very dark and hard to see.
Glad to hear it. I need to make the next video about what do you do when your factory reset (as per this video) and then the old settings/password keeps coming back (via ztp). 😉
We have been losing our minds over our locked-up Polycom phones. This solved our problems and made me look like a damn hero! Thank you!
Awesome news!
Thank you so much! These are the types of support videos I'd like to see from everyone. Simple and straight to the point.
Thanks for the compliment ☺
You've saved me from the brink of insanity! Thanks!

Nice video! Thanks! We've used these Polycom phones with Thirdlane Multi Tenant PBX at our MSP firm-it's a cost-effective combination!
Vvx250 has been my favorite. Too bad it's EOL (or soon will be). 😕
ONE MILLION THANK YOUS! This was so easy after watching your video. Thanks for posting this and please keep sharing!
Thanks for the positive feedback. Glad it made your life easier! 😄
Thank you. That last screen was driving me nuts.
thank you! the info you gave around the 4:00 about the admin password being too short was my problem. appreciate your wisdom.

This is the long way to do the factory reset on the VVX 250 however it is 100% effective if you are able to get that MAC address input properly.
Thank you for the straight to the point instructional video! Super helpful.
This is helpful. If I do a factory reset in order to reestablish a password do I lose all current names an numbers in my Directory?

Thank you very much for this video, helped me recover my vvx250. salutes to you!

If that light isn’t coming on during boot-up, then it may be defective. 😟
@@VoIPTelecom Poly gave me the unfortunate news. :( Appreciate the reply though!
Thank you so much! I thought I was going to have to buy another phone after resetting attempts and password didnt work.
That's great news! 👍
You are a rockstar. Thank you!
Happy to get feedback Ike this. Thank you. ☺
Thanks for the video! Helped me.
thanks that last screed has me stumped

cancel button doesn't show for me either, i'm going to call support tomorrow, if nothing the returning phone
Running into the same issue too.
Same. And after a few reboots with staff it's a brick. Concerning this is happening to so many. Obihai phones were solid.
@@3000gtDentist I am having the same issue. No cancel option. Were you ever able to solve the issue?
Thanks!
