Viveks parents entered the USA on legal Work visas, they are a Dr and an Engineer. They didnt enter illegally or over stay a visa. They paid their dues and are legal immigrants. No one paid dime for their free housing, free education, free medical care, EBT cards. Viveks parents followed real immigration laws and paid their dues.

Gen z here, not a woke person or anything but i dont agree with this sentiment. It's crazy that our housing system is too expensive, with any president since as far as i can remember. It's crazy that my mom struggled to get us housing for as long as i can remember. Yet in this country we have many many empty unsold houses and mansions that are sitting empty. If we struggle with so much homelessness and people are building tent communities cause its so hard to make it here, how dare we not help each other when we're here struggling together, immigrant or not. I'm not saying letting them sleep in hotels (and theyre not housing them in other states but new york, so the rest are still struggling) is okay too but if you see someone in need in front of you wouldnt you rather help them? We have a whole homelessness problem and cant blame the immigrants who only want to work and live here, the process to get citizenship is very long and frustrating and expensive. Especially when your home country is being torn apart by vigilantes and terrorists. This country represents security and safety, that's why people wanna live here. We need to make it easier to manage immigrating to this country, and keep the ones with criminal activities out.
Taking in people just because they are looking for economic relief is not the responsibility of any country. It’s an unsustainable burden on that host country which is why you are seeing the problems today. Politicians on the left like to pretend that this isn’t so just to make themselves look compassionate and their opposition seem cruel. There was a story on vice when DT was president Trudeau in an attempt to make DT look bad made a statement on the news that Canada would take in the illegals that were being sent away by the U.S. The result was they began to go to Canada in droves and once there they were told that they had to go through the process like everyone else because Canada has immigration laws. So in essence they were fooled just so Trudeau could virtue signal against DT. And big surprise the media didn’t denounce Trudeau but continued to denounce DT.
