Such great background. Honestly did not realize how much I didn’t know about these amazing artists and it really added to my appreciation for their art. Thank you!!!
NICE! NICE!. I love your historical accounts. They are so dead on. Thanks for doing this. I enjoy all of your videos but especially the ones like this. Well done.
Great job, very informative. Love hearing about the artists themselves instead of just the characters. Would be cool if you did one with underground artists for a future video also.
The historical videos that you produced are some of your best. I have learned so much about the hobby I love, and I am sure others have too. As a suggestion, how about doing a video about the different comic book publishers that existed before the comics code? I think it would be fascinating to learn more about that part of our industry. We know about Marvel comics, DC comics even Harvey and Dell comics to an extent. What about all the other ones that existed that went under? That would probably be very interesting to learn about.
This was fantastic! I'm primarily a golden age collector, and many of my favorites are depicted here, but I didn't know much of their history. These greats need their legacy preserved. Thanks for doing this.
Some of my favorite all-time artist that are in this list Lou fine ,basil Wolverton, Alex Schomberg, and Al feldstein, and also Matt Baker of all the artists in the list I would Lou fine was the the best artist , my favorite artists and the most creative basil Wolverton but all the artists are masters of their profession great video thanks for enlightening people that did not know about these amazing talented artists.
Beautiful work, Dave! You have rapidly become my favorite comic commentator. I'm a lifelong collector and a loyal fan. I sincerely hope videos such as these will foster an interest in the amazing Gold and Silver Age books that seem to have slipped out of the collective consciousness of the average modern day collector. We wouldn't be where we are today without them and they deserve a modern re-evaluation. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to the field I - and so many others - love.
Wow. Your dad has the best video on this channel, but this one is next level stuff. You keep improving your content. Btw....I bought Forever People #1 9.8 from your auction. Will be eagerly awaiting what goodies await in the next one. You do pi$$ me off with your Hulk rhetoric at times though......everyone knows Thor has historically held back against that brute.
Thanks. Ya I love doing these types of videos. Awesome. Hope the book arrived safely. And hulk is strongest there is. Sorry. It’s facts. Immortal hulk destroyed the entire universe 😆
Loved this video. Nice job! As soon as you showed those ugly characters Basel Wolverton did, I wondered if he did those PLOP! comics...you verified my suspicion at the end of his bit.
Wasn't Lena the hyena on who framed Roger Rabbit?? When I heard u say that name, that's the 1st thing I thought of! Great video David! Thanks4 making it!
Either you lived a long life or you died by a heart condition. Wonder if it's the smoking 🚬 effect. Sad about the suicide. This was a good video Dave, you are keeping thier memory alive.
that is my hope, most of my videos after the 1st week never get anymore more views, so its been really hard building a channel because if I don't pretty much upload daily my channel dies. I'm trying to do and find more videos that last along time
I might be wrong but I thought CRIME DOES NOT PAY. and CRIMEBUSTER (a pre Spidey kid super hero) outsold the original Daredevil! "Crime..." was the best selling crime title for years, spawning many imitators! Also,, lots of people get this wrong. but DC/National did not win that lawsuit, Fawcett had the resources to continue the fight if they chose to. With comic sales plummeting, they decided to get out of comic biz and settle with DC out of court! Fawcett then turned their attention to the new, growing PAPERBACK market!
@@ComicBookInvestments a little sad but beautiful history. Thanks David. I think it’s about hope and spreading the word about these great American artists
This stuff is my favorite of yours David great work man
Thanks. Yes I love doing these more deep dives.
Good stuff Dave. I always seem to like the videos that you say nobody watches. 😂👍
You and me both 😂 I love these types of videos. But they take a lot of work and don’t get nearly as many views
Excellent video. Well done. Thank you.

NICE! NICE!. I love your historical accounts. They are so dead on. Thanks for doing this. I enjoy all of your videos but especially the ones like this. Well done.
Thanks. I love doing these videos. It takes me longer but I love doing all the research
Great work enlightening comicbook collectors. 👏
Thanks
Great job, very informative. Love hearing about the artists themselves instead of just the characters. Would be cool if you did one with underground artists for a future video also.
ya there are a whole bunch of these videos I want to do, but they take alot of time to edit and write
Well done, informative video! Kudos!

Yes I want to do videos on publishers, they just take alot of time, but i'll get there
Loved this, thanks David.
Great crash course on these artists ! Highly educational !

Excellent work on this video.
Great video. Very interesting. Thanks for doing it

This was fantastic! I'm primarily a golden age collector, and many of my favorites are depicted here, but I didn't know much of their history. These greats need their legacy preserved. Thanks for doing this.
Thanks. Yes it’s nice to know the men behind the ink
Great stuff 👍
Outstanding! Hope you keep making these even if they don’t get as many views.
I do videos like this like 2-3 times a month. But most people don’t even see them hahaha. But I do like doing them

Lou fine is probably the best technical artist out of all these. But my favorite is probably Matt fox or lb Cole

Thanks. Yes I love the old golden age. And it’s very key for people to see how it all began
I don't know how you can say these guys are forgotten. Their covers keep going up in value and get record prices
Few mainstream know. This is spreading the word to masses. Even most comic collectors are ignorant about these great artists
I loved Basil Fullerton's work in Mad! Thanks for the nostalgia.
Thanks Dave for this. Keep these up. Also like sun everyone. Gotta spread the history to the next gen. 😊😊
Well done, Dave From!
BRAVO, overall, a Great video! A keeper. I never knew Charlse Biro went into television!
Thanks
Good video - nice to know more about these guys. But Henry Kutzman? It's Harvey Kurtzman!
They did what they loved and had great talent

Yes he was very unique
a video on that OG daredevil would be interesting
These are all basic names for golden age enthusiasts. To us, these artists are anything but forgotten!
Matt baker the goat
Wasn't Lena the hyena on who framed Roger Rabbit?? When I heard u say that name, that's the 1st thing I thought of! Great video David! Thanks4 making it!
I’m not sure actually. Maybe?
Either you lived a long life or you died by a heart condition. Wonder if it's the smoking 🚬 effect. Sad about the suicide. This was a good video Dave, you are keeping thier memory alive.
yes alot of them died very young
I saw Lena the Hyena once before in a photograph of B-29 bomber nose art taken during the Korean War. I had no idea it came from Lil' Abner comics
Ya such a crazy drawing
These videos will gain traction over time. This information will always remain relevant. The other videos expire in a sense.
that is my hope, most of my videos after the 1st week never get anymore more views, so its been really hard building a channel because if I don't pretty much upload daily my channel dies. I'm trying to do and find more videos that last along time

yes crime does not pay was outselling daredevil and I believe even superman comics at one point
I thought Lobo was the first black comic hero.
Voodah was much earlier
THIS IS A SAD VIDEO!😭
Yes it is alittle sad
@@ComicBookInvestments a little sad but beautiful history. Thanks David. I think it’s about hope and spreading the word about these great American artists
