Thanks mate! Yeah Grayling have got to be one of my favourite fish, just want to catch a big one now! We’ll be heading up to Scotland to go for a big one before winter is over…..fingers crossed for a 2lber. All the best, Niall
Top dangling! Beautiful when the river and countryside are in that state, and the lady often obliges! You obviously know that spot well. Nice circus trick with the back cast fish, too! 😂👍
Cheers Dave appreciate that mate! Still baffles me how the fish can be so active on such cold days. I was at this spot a couple weeks later when it was much more mild, barely had a bite haha. Not long until we can get back out fly fishing for trout now, let’s make sure me you and Joel get out for a chuck this spring/summer. All the best, Niall
They can be really on in cold weather, once you locate them, if youre really lucky and there's a bizzare hatch of olives on a cold day dry fly can be good, its happened more than once to me. Im not good with euro nymph though, I need some coaching on it really! But I've had some fun when I've found them and got the drift right though.
Great video as usual from you guys, fair play to you on bagging those fish on such a brutally cold day, you earned the luck with the more ‘fortuitous’ catches 👍 can’t beat a mince pie, whatever the weather - got a 6 pack for 60p from the local Co-op last week , I may no longer live in Yorkshire but I took the thriftiness with me 😆
Just like to say your videos are ace, I’ve just binged the lot! So well put together, you’d deserve so many more subs! Some stunning rivers especially in Yorkshire! I’ve just started fly fishing on the Swale and can’t wait for trout season. If I get any good I could show you fellow Yorkshiremen the best swims on the Swale. Keep up the videos, you’ve really inspired me to explore our amazing rivers!
Ahh thanks mate that’s very kind of you glad you enjoyed our vids 😊 You’re absolutely right, plenty of stunning rivers in Yorkshire and there’s loads more we haven’t explored. The Swale being one of them! We’d definitely be up for a trip to the Swale sometime 😊 All the best Niall
Cheers Paul appreciate that mate, really enjoy your vids as well! Yeah we edit ourselves, slowly getting better but takes us ages to edit a vid nowadays hah. All worth it though 😊 all the best, Niall
@@albionangling Good on you, i find the editing/story telling the biggest challenge, after nearly 200 vids im only just starting to think i can put a decent video together and that will depend on time available to edit and actual clips that you have to work with. I rushed out 3 short vids over a weekend a while back ( the forgotten river ) and tried to maintain 2 videos each weekend and my views went up considerably, the algorithm defiantly likes more content. Ginger fisherman has an amazing output of videos but keeps to a simple template for his videos which must enable easier editing. Keep it up, this video did inspire me to do better, but saying that I'm going to rush out my latest video as I've been catching bugger all lately! Sod mid winter it can go do one! if ever your down this way give us a shout and we can catch a few.
Grayling is on my bucket fish to catch. great fishing!

That grayling drop off looks utterly tantalising. Also a big fan of how insistent you were in showing us your mince pie. Great video mate!
Thanks mate! You know all too well how good a dawsons mince pie is, couldn’t resist giving them some air time 🤣
