This video popped up on my UA-cam feed and I decided to watch it again and I’m glad I did. What a great way to start my day. Lovely build. Happy modeling!

Thanks very much👍However, when I look at it now I feel ashamed. Since that time, I have learned so many things in building and filming. Keep on modelling😀

@@-kit-ou-double2774 Michel, I think we are usually the toughest critics when it comes to judging our own work. I know the feeling too. Well I’m still delighted to see a video of every model you choose to share with us. 👍

Lovely build. That Sopwith Camel is a keeper and I’ll bet you are glad you got it before the company closed. I wish I had discovered WNW a few years ago as my purchases have been quite expensive!

Thanks very much. When one knows why WNW closed down... It's a shame... Well, on the other hand, my stock is full enough ( yours too? 😄) When I see what kind of film I have been making almost 4 years ago...🤥 Thanks for your support👍

I really enjoyed your build.....there's not too many WNW kits being shown on UA-cam so coming across yours was great. Really nice job as I know that the WNW kits are very detailed and require a lot of focus. Well done!

Thanks very much. I am not used to WW1 planes. I really enjoyed this one. Within a few months, my next ' stringbag ' will be Cooper State Model Nieuport 17. See you soon

I am about to build the same kit .. thank you so much that is very helpful as this is my first time building a WW1 model .. rigging looks daunting!

You are welcome. That was my 1rst WWI kit too. That was not perfect at all. I have another one. A Nieuport 17 from CSM. I'll try to something different about rigging learned from a friend of mine. See you soon.

Good evening I just wanted to say very nice build very useful that you listed all the tamiya paint colors but most of all was the kick ass. diorama it set it off thanks for the info keep on building. Bruce

Hello Bruce! Thanks for your comment. Almost all tips I use were either found on Internet or learned with my fellow modellers or by reading magazines. Speak, look, read and spread, that's excellent for our hobby. My next plane is already begun. See you soon. Michel

nice build BUT you put down way to much paint. i noticed in there paint was pooling in spots also there was paint splatter everywhere
which means the paint is drying before it gets to the model. so you will need to turn your air pressure down and move in a little closer

Thank you for your advises. I am stiil learning. In the end I polished it with ' micro mesh ' and make up coton. Impossible to show everything on a film. But anyway, I went through my first ' stringbag ' and my first film. My way of thinking is just have fun. For that, each kit is a test for the next one... See you soon

Not bad for a model made in South Korea!! it's bad that this costs an outrageous fortune as most of those details are lost once built - especially the ones inside the cockpit. All that time wasted on painting and detailing it and never being able to see it! It's too bad. Great job on that weathering! You are one of the only few that I've seen that can do it justice by painting it correctly - the colours are spot on as is rigging.. I just finished building one of these a couple days ago (3/15/2021). I built it for my Dad for a Christmas present. It was the Academy version that no one seems to want on evilbay. It's not a bad kit but it certainly isn't a great one.
If I knew that I could've built it and painted it before putting the rigging in the fuselage for the tail I would've done so and had better results. Also using the superglue accelerator would've helped tremendously as would using EPOXY instead of superglue for the wing struts. I too put them on one at a time but in pairs on the ends then the struts in the middle around the cockpit. I also had to add rigging to the two struts that were missing it. Meaning that it isn't fully rigged from the instruction manual. I wondered why there was so much thread that came with it. If I had also known about EZ-line I would've used that and painted it aluminum instead. Well, you live and you learn. I'm glad that I didn't glue this to the board for the diorama yet - it too leaves a lot to be desired in my opinion so I'll figure something out for that next. Thanks for sharing this with the rest of us.

Thanks a lot for this long answer in French. As long as we have the will to learn, we are still ' active modellers...This one is not perfect at all. But that was my first film and my first' stringbag '. At the time, I answer you, I am building another one. I hope that the improvements will be seen. But there are much better than mine. Keep on modelling... See you soon

How is the Tamiya Extra Thin cement meant to work when you've painted over the plastic parts?

    • @-kit-ou-double2774
      @-kit-ou-double2774  5 років тому +1

Sorry, I am not sure to understand your question. What you want to know is the reaction of the paint once in contact with the Tamiya Extra Thin Cement? Once dry, no reaction. Allow one day before painting. because this glue melts the plastic
Sorry for my poor English. If I did not understood, please feel free to contact me gain.

@@-kit-ou-double2774 Pardonnez-moi.

OK. I see. I think that you are speaking of the masts between the wings. No, there is no problem for that. Sometimes I remove the paint and sometimes not. In this particular case, I did not because, everything fitted parfectly. Only one drop of glue and the wing did not move anymore. Naturally, I waited next morning before continuing
Thanks for for appreciation.... but I was in Telford at the end of last year. What would you say about these ' crasy guys '??? Thanks anyway and see you soon

    • @Dragonblaster1

@@-kit-ou-double2774 OK, I understand. I always remove paint before gluing, probably only because I always have. I have this kit in my stash (I've started modelling again after a 30-year break) and probably will wait until my skills are better. I doubt I'll get a result anywhere near as good as yours.
Ah, Telford. I went there last November and was blown away. Of particular interest was the Wingnut Wings stand, where they had the 1/32 Avro Lancaster on display. It looks stunning.

    • @-kit-ou-double2774
      @-kit-ou-double2774  5 років тому

Yes, you are right. Wingnut Wings stand and their Lancaster were awesome...But not only. I am used to French shows. They are quite good but.... I was expecting a schock in Telford. It is beyond expectation. And I long to go back there.... LOL!...
If you want a 'result ', there is no other solution: built, built , read magazines, look at videos on Internet, visit shows like Telford, speak to the 'artists, be a club member etc... and better, be retired like me...
Wingnut Wings Camel is not a kit to restart after a 30 years break. If you are like many others builders, you have a ' huge ' number of boxes in stock... LOL... Remember: each kit is a test for the next one... Have fun!!!

Very fine build ! Are the machine guns made of plastic ? Were there no metal parts in the box ? Thank you for showing the build.

    • @-kit-ou-double2774
      @-kit-ou-double2774  4 роки тому

Thank you very much. The machine guns are in plastic except very small photo etched parts to close the barrels just above the guns' mouth. As metal parts, there are also the gunsights and the seat belts. As WWI kit buiider beginner, I have been fully satisfied. The kit is designed to be as easy as possible for a ' strinbag '. All the pleasure had been for me. See you soon:):):)
