I think Wemby enjoy that kind of pressure. But I don't think it's a good trade for Cleveland
and I don't think the rest of the Spurs roster is Championship ready, even with J.Allen+D. Mitchell
This would make sense if Wemby wasn't Wemby. Based on how he over achieved by all foreseeable measures in his rookie season its safe to say that if he continues it within the next season the window of being able to build around him could drastically change seeing as to how his rookie contract is only for 4 years and given his proven ability to be the face of the franchise for years to come, it's not far-fetched to see him seeking a huge payday when the contract is up and also natural to assume San Antonio will begin extention negotiations as early as his 3rd season. Lastly the young man obviously hates losing and seeing as to how if at anytime he becomes remotely close to being a free agent every team in the league with anything to offer will be trying to win him over so stalling around in mediocrity for a drawn out rebuild could cause him to look at other options with a "win now" mentality. We gotta strike while the iron is hot and while we have all of the leverage in our favor

I understand the reasoning but I feel like the era of trading for superstars is out. Just in this playoffs, we have seen the negative effects of trading for a good team rather than home grown teams. It would be fun but I think they would be better off just developing and drafting players. Then trading for that win now player when they are ready

Jesús Christ weve never pressured another player to be great this early in their career. It took Jordan 7 years to win a chip it took lebron 9 but no wemby better be challenging for titles by year two. Cmon guys with the new CBA the smart thing is to surround him with good young players that fit roles. They have two picks this year and possibly 3 next year. They’ll probably be bad next season and target traore as their PG of the future. That’s when they’ll start ramping up. Being good this year does nothing for them. There are no moves that make them championship contenders and trading for someone like Giannis causes more issues with the timeline differences. Trust PATFO we’ll be ok.

This is nonsense!!!! The NBA is setup to prevent your premise that the rebuild can be done more quickly. There is the salary cap and then there are draft picks. A big time vet will be costly in terms of both salary and draft pics. In addition to this, SA is not one vet away from contending; they have multiple needs in the starting lineup and need quality role players in the second unit as well. A superstar to go along with Wemby is just not in the cards

Honestly trading one pick for Giannis or another superstar could be good news. And you’d get either the 4th or the 8th pick which is not that bad. If the spurs need a championship, then honestly getting a superstar would be better.
