Mid 2021, the world has gone mad, stress and anxiety is at full force amidst the biggest epidemic of all time. The simplicity of life in 2011 is summed up through the beautiful lyricism of this song (sounds even better than the recorded track) Take me back!
Performed 6 days before Gerard passed, even then it must of been emotional as they knew he was seriously ill. You can really see/hear it in the performance.
this is great, the whole album/movie is (if you haven't seen nine types of light you're missing out, arguably one of the greatest works of musical art in a while) Their full David Letterman performance of 8 songs (uploaded on the TVOTR site) is next level. Just amazing, Young Liars is a great way to open a show...
As a gen z kid, I feel like these guys should get more attention than they do now. I don't really care who you are, literally anyone can enjoy this song.
i love how he says they are rock and roll, and lets the music speak for itself. he doesn't feel the need to elaborate with all these shitty genre descriptors, like alt-funk, art rock, etc. you go, david letterman.
OMG i just listened to the song on the TV. then i wanted to listen to it one again so i found that vid. and when i just read the comments i found out that he's dead !! :O Restinpeace!
I really like this version. These guys almost sound better live on everything I've seem so far. I don't have any of their albums yet, but I will be collecting their discography, preferably on vinyl. Does anyone know if they have the live versions released anywhere? As far as the dancers go, in my opinion, I think they really help support the emotion of this track. I really like the image if the band playing with the dancers doing their thing. So powerful. This song is so addictive. Als
Whoa I haven't seen them since 2008 but they were one of the best live bands ever. Only The Cramps, Bad Brains and Sonic Youth had more energy onstage than these guys.
I have to completely disagree with you, firstly I've seen these guys a couple of times and youtube never really does justice to a good live band. Secondly this was right before gerard smith died and for me i could really feel the emotion in this performance. BUT in saying that I do agree for a band that's records have such incredible production quality it is always hard to bring that into a live performance
It's not because of where you live, it's because there's not enough people who would actually buy tickets to see them. The bands don't really choose where they go, their label does, and they just follow the money trail.
@Tralalala00 Regarding what was given to letterman at 4:10 I do believe it was a business card. contact info, things of that nature. I'm in a band and we ALWAYS hand them out to the venue owners after the show. NEVER BEFORE!! That makes you a douche ;)
This is totally "Awesome" to say the least. And I would be ashamed to have anything but "Good" to say about the dancers, choreography or anything else about it!
Letterman has got some great taste in music.
yeah like he picks them personally lol
@@danep1053 - no, but you can tell by his reactions which acts he really enjoys, and which he doesn't. he seems to really dig TVotR.
Mid-2019 now and still listening to the coolness of this song. Excellent live performance!
Christie B. 2020, and it still sounds amazing.
@@jaybee6701 yeah I know
mid-2021 still got this shit goin..
2023 I'm still here
great taste

I don't understand why this band isn't more popular. Every album they make gets better and better.
Heard this on "You're the Worst". Great show. Great song
Yea he's had them on SO many times.
pretty rad.
I seen them live and that performance blew me away it was almost life changing
2018 anyone? Still love this Song 💙
Hey Juliana, you maniac...I'm listening in 2018 wubalubdubdub :)
2021. Rock on.
2024
Performed 6 days before Gerard passed, even then it must of been emotional as they knew he was seriously ill. You can really see/hear it in the performance.
Heard this on FIFA 12. So ill!!!
❤
this song almost makes me cry
From Warren Zevon to TV On The Radio. David Letterman has great taste.
I love this band soooooo much.
Saw them live a couple of days ago. VERY amazing. And this is not one of those random praises on the net you can't believe..
This is amazing. Glad I just discovered them
Bangin voice!!
The dancers are amazing! Great job. I loved it. :)
"Kind of music that makes you want to drive all night"
This is absolutely fantastic
Looks like Letterman finally got that beard he wanted

Live dancer should accompany live music like this more often! Anyone know anything about the dancers or choreographer?
As a gen z kid, I feel like these guys should get more attention than they do now. I don't really care who you are, literally anyone can enjoy this song.
fantastic song
Listen to that BASS! I would sell both my legs to write a tune/be in a band like this. Absolutely fucking killer. 10/10
Still love this version better than the studio version, which is AWESOME
that only eases the pain a little..;)
this music has so much more feeling in the studio version
I really liked this video and the sound was great!!Go Brooklyn!!
Great slow and calm song!
I love this song!
What a song😍
I love good music... and I love this song.
great song!!
love the lyrics
They're good live . Thumbs up
Thought the exact same thing; it's amazing!

Funny how Dave grew a beard like Kip’s a decade later
love it.......
Love this song when I'm playing fifa12.!!!
idk which is more genius... the dancers or the wind chimes on the guitar head
2019 💙
Still 🔥
Anyone know what Kyp hands Letterman at the end there? I was thinking an AA chip, perhaps? I know Letterman has had his issues with drinking.
I think it was kyp’s Beard Coach business card
Feelin' it!
August 2020

beuty song
Letterman is such a gentleman
They’re making a new album
But anytime will do...
We won’t know the actual if we never take the chance.
Genial!
Holy crap just realized all these years later, letterman now HAS dude's epic beard
😂😂😂
I'd love to see them live... unfortunately because of where I live, American bands rarely have performances.
Just so gosh darn heck fuckin excellent.
Sweet bass
I'm here from Cee lo Green 'Talking to Strangers' show on MuchMore.
Such a sexy song, beautiful.
And here's why David has a beard today.
Letterman you did get that beard after all!
schande, wie geil.....
Dancers totally worked for me...and please...no debate necessary.
Es muy bueno -Bee Man-
seeing David now, he really meant about the beard
Kaue Oliveira Almeida Why did you comment this twice?
The guitarist with the gibson firebird looks like Dr Know from Bad Brains
We got Hines Ward dancing and Colin Ferrell on trumbone. Nice special guest...
Whoa I haven't seen them since 2008 but they were one of the best live bands ever. Only The Cramps, Bad Brains and Sonic Youth had more energy onstage than these guys.
Gotta shout out The Hives also.
Sad day for music today:(

Why isn't this band more talked about?
Fifa brought me here
lol what did dave sitek hand off to letterman at the end?
guitar pick
@@ytuseracct get your eyes checked m8
@tonyvegas13 Yes it is my opinion, don't know why that needed restating.
i wonder what that hand off was at the end
R.I.P. Gerard Smith...
@msstevieduck yupp
I dug the whole deal.
@damon171717 But why should they do it onstage? They performed on his show before, too.
What did Kyp Malone give Letterman at 4:10?
his Bolognese sauce recipe...
this reell alternativo or something!!
It's not because of where you live, it's because there's not enough people who would actually buy tickets to see them. The bands don't really choose where they go, their label does, and they just follow the money trail.
Thumbs up if you have been listening to this song for the last year before FIFA12
@waldocalvinhobbes yup
8 peeps wont do
Fifa 12 nostalgia

@sonorpaiste702 thats your opinion, it worked for me..
Yeah, perhaps. It just seems like a much more somber/important thing than a pick. But you may be right.
Haha, "good lookin drums."
Love this song but it drives me insane that he says 'hermosa' incorrectly!
only 6 days after this gerard died. rip
Hermosa no potico
'good looking drum' lol
Letterman digs the fuck out of these guys. Awesome.
@tonyvegas13 I hope you're not serious
