Harm's Way "Human Carrying Capacity" from the album "Posthuman".
"We've always stayed true to who we are and allowed the songwriting process to take shape organically from record to record, and as the band has progressed, our sound has become more refined with metal and industrial influences," states drummer Chris Mills, while guitarist Bo Lueders succinctly sums up what people can expect when they first spin the record: "To a Harms Way fan, I would describe 'Posthuman' as a blend of 'Isolation'(2011) and 'Rust' (2015), but it's sonically way more insane. To anyone else, I would simply say it's full on heavy and full on aggression."
With producer Will Putney overseeing the tracking at Graphic Nature Audio in Belleville, New Jersey, Posthuman came together easily and fluidly. Having three weeks to track it - the longest they have ever spent on a single full-length - was definitely beneficial. "We spent the first three days there doing pre-production and refining the songs to be the best possible versions of themselves," says Mills. "The amount of time we had in creating this record meant we were able to experiment and not have to rush with any aspect of it, and I feel it shows in the end product." The title, Posthuman, aptly summarizes the themes of the record, reflecting a sense of not feeling like a part of the world anymore, whether that be politically, socially, ethically, or emotionally. "It very much pulls from ideas of transcendence, progression, and resilience", Mills elaborates, "and it's very much a push back on traditional ideas of the self and self-actualization. 'Posthuman' to us is about progressing above and beyond the confines of what is considered human, in the physical, psychological, and categorical sense."
LYRICS:
Gas the earth, suffocate.
By our hand, at this rate.
Reproduce, to further man.
Stop them now, if we can.
Gasp, constrict, can’t breathe.
Smother, our lungs, we bleed.
Poison, they fail, to foster.
Glaciers wither, the waters rise.
Toxic rays, burn our eyes.
The wells run dry, oils deplete.
Rotting soil, is at our feet.
Gasp, constrict, can’t breathe.
Smother, our lungs, we bleed.
Watch us drown.
Watch the sun, melt the ground.
Cries of pain, in the end, we’re to blame.
Their vocalist's human carrying capacity is a lot higher than mine.
That dude could bench a vending machine.
Hey goat
at first I thought it was just a reference to the song but then I remembered who their lead singer is lmao.

Solid tune- damn decent/dark lyrics too- an actual message.... hadn't heard much from these guys- I think I'll go buy the album.....
I’m noticing how the lyrics rhyme
Generally People Suffering honestly. Almost every song regardless of their genre will always have rhymes lol
@@generallypeoplesuffering8173
lyrical intent is ment.
"Wow, this song sounds bad ass!"
*looks up lyrics*
"Oh, it's about climate change..."
Somehow the song doesn't hit hard anymore
I was googling carrying capacity for bio homework and this shows up
Glad you could make it

Welcome friend!
Harms Way has been a favorite hardcore band of mine since the very beginning. I have every record and I will definitely be getting this one! Congrats on the signing of one of the best labels around in my opinion!
pagansforbreakfast it’s the signature really for this band. Their sound has always stood out among the rest in my opinion as far as hardcore goes. When I first found these guys I had trouble understanding to, but part of me didn’t care because the mixture of the growling and heaviness got me moving haha Once I read the lyrics from the first ep I was hooked and have been ever since. I think the growling clarity has improved since past albums\eps, but nonetheless it’s always how they say a banger.
The guitar tone is so thick compared to past albums. SO much beef. I dig it, even though it lacks that sort of buzzsaw quality. I feel like they took notes when they played with ETID a while back.
tbh I liked their Boss Metal Pedal sound alot! In their on way it was very unique.
Putney.
I'm not a big fan of Putney. He tends me make every band sound pretty similar and dry. Much prefer the production on the last album.
Andy Pandy858 I am really only familiar with a few albums that he’s produced (Low Teens, Laugh Tracks, From the Unforgiving Arms of God) but those are all bangers, and he seems to do a great job. He has a lot of focus on the lower end. Everything seems to be pretty deep and bassy. He just wants a big beefy sound, which I think fits this band, although again, I wouldn’t mind some buzz saw guitars
If he wanted a big beefy sound he wouldn't use such terrible drum samples. Low Teens was possibly his worst job yet. It's unfortunate because I love ETID but that album was ruined partly because his mix on that was so bad. He tried going for a raw tone but it just ended up sounding dry and flat.
Harms way turning into one of my favorite newer hardcore bands. This album is absolutely massive
Proper getting into Harm's Whey now
Harm's Way is heavy as hell.
I remember in my earlier teenage years, if you wanted heavy music, you had to search by brands, for example, "Deathcore" bands.
But now, "Hardcore" seems to be more of a variety zone. You have brutal kids and maybe death metal fans who are going to feast on Harm's Way, while 90s skate punk now-dads might enjoy, say, Angel Du$t.
Kinda weird to see that label barriers have dropped.
Labels for metal died in 2017 we've all accepted all genres can intermingle and its still great
Nah, that's cap. Only myspace kids used to simple labels and bad music believed this. Check out Orchid ('emo') and 00s hardcore bands like Rise & Fall, Shattered Realm, Arkangel, Martyr AD, Walls of Jericho or even 90s bands like Disembodied, Early Hatebreed, Marauder etc. There was always a lot of variety. Myspace and post-broadband internet just concentrated music within easy labels and gave stupid people access to music they never would have found on their own.

When I listen to this I feel like I can walk through walls
Very sick banger and the lyrical content is top notch.
This song is a bomb. How does it not have more views/listens here is beyond me.
Damn. I'm looking forward to the release!
🤟🤟🔥🔥
MUITO BOM. É ÓTIMA A MÚSICA !
Great song. Has that Earth Crisis vibe to my ears. well done.
I took my daughter to this show awesome pit!
Great riff
Good to see hc make it out to a wider audience
Good shit.
That production is fookin MEATY.
Sounds a lot like Isolation. Even though i really liked the groove/sludge/doom/nu/alternative metal sound on "Rust", i really love this.
nu ?
Love
It does sound more like isolation era, totally digging it
I want to listen to the entire album! ☹️🤘🏻
Strictlyvegan you’ve got iTunes bud...
Or... google play... or Spotify... shit.
Thank fuck these guys found some good guitar tones
I just heard this band for the first time today as it came up on my YT mix.
Thought they were pretty cool, but I guess I didn't look at the name properly because I thought they were called:
HAM'S WAY
Yes.
Great band. Just saw them at Shaka's Live in Va Beach.
So sick
Such a killer album
Awesome, I love it!
Sepultura?
I’ve played this song thirty times over the last two days
YUUUUUUP. This is gonna be the Code Orange/Forever of 2018 ie FUCKING INSANE hardcore that goes beyond the genre’s limits. Gaht dayum this is already top album material!
Jared Fitch honestly I think of "Forever" as the "'Rust' of 2017" lol
Honestly code orange is overrated
Raphael Robert I'm not gonna argue with that, but the reason they're so popular is because they went to Roadrunner Records (a popular rock/metal record label), so this is the "contemporary world's" first exposure to this style of metalcore (which has been around since the mid-90s)
Nope. All the hype is deserved. After seeing them live and going through their catalog both as Code Orange Kids and their current form, safe to say they're one of the only hardcore bands trying to evolve.
Jared Fitch do you like anything else under Kurt Ballou's catalogue?
Best album of the year in my opinion
This band. 😆😆😆😆😁😁😁😁 and BTBAM. Metal is finally back
Vinnie send me on this master piece ❤❤
Metal Blade really be out here droppin the best hardcore albums of the 2010s

"Human Carrying Capacity" or should I say, "How much can you bench, bro!?"
Does this sound a little like Harness to anyone else? I like it
Why does this vaguely remind me of Mammoth Grinder's Cosmic Crypt?

Lol, the singer sounds like Punisher from marvels Netflix show when he goes berserk
Well...well well well.....WELL WELL WELL WELL WELL!!!!! Me likey...me likey lots👍👍👍👍👍👍
FINAFUCKINGLY
I don’t mind a hardcore band if it’s consistently heavy! If it doesn’t veer into silly clean vox. I like clean vocals too, Ryan Clark is a good example, but when I gets downright silly, no heavy left: they lose me. Like Prada or as I lay dying - the clean vox suck so hard!!!!!!
nick givent this band has done cleans, just they dont suck
Full cover! ua-cam.com/video/E2a2bdCdcvg/v-deo.html
Me going to work.
reminds me of xibalba
they haven't made music in a minute..
Harms Way is so damn good at making every song sound exactly the same. If you hear one you just heard them all.
not neccesarily a bad thing
The singer has a high capacity of human to carry
better than Rust
I think this song is about global warming.
MrRelentlessFun Not really, more about our continued presence being a thorn in the side of the Earth. And getting what we deserve.
Yeah. Carrying Capacity is the idea that a piece of land/area has only so many resources and cannot increase in size and the higher the population grows, the closer we get to "max" that earth can handle and we'll start seeing resources, land, atmosphere, air etc etc degrade.
i think they're a non-religious band tho
Let’s be real they should just rename this song ‘Max Bench Press’
How is this hardcore?
This just sounds like old school death metal infused with 90's hardcore. Definitely more metal than hardcore...
Zak Johnson its like crossover hardcore. Instrumentally its extremely hardcore tho... like as Im typing this the past entire minute has just been hardcore riffs with very light thrash and groove metal vibes. They're just heavy metallic hardcore, the genre lines are kinda blurred now adays but these guys are certainly a hardcore band.
Theres no deathmetal riffs even in this lol..... how tf can it even sound like dm lmfao.
Marksman 5147 The vocals and the buzzsaw guitars sound make it sound like Swedeath. You have no idea what you're talking about then, not to also mention the vocals as well. The vocals can easily be portrayed as DM vocals
This moron obviously doesn't know how genres and sub-genres work
Just seen these guys today shit was world war 3
✊✊✊666✊✊✊
Mosh pit
At least some in the metal community accept the science of climate change.
The instrumental is fucking awesome, but the screaming is kinda boring.
fake news
Galactic_Storm niiiiiice
Generic
sounds too straight edge and unimaginative but its good enough to get pumped up lol
Yo! This is great. Maybe better than Isolation and that was hell of an album.
