Very late comment for people like me surfing the internet for vintage Porsche racing videos. I still can't believe this monster had a 4speed gearbox in 1979. That had to be problematic at some circuits with lots of low speed corners
Ciao Matteo! Quanto mi piacciono i Gr.5.
Bravo a te e 19Bozzy92. Ciao!
I like it, I like the way it looks. To this day it's grandson; Porsche 911; is racing like it's 1,979. I didn't know they had Coca-Cola livery back then, I think we have a 911 with Coca-Cola livery, or was it 2,019? Anyway, the cars go BRRUMM BRRUMM BRRUMM.
Yes, this car had the Coca-Cola livery it raced in the early '80s. In recent years I have often filmed this car, and it was always red. Only in 2018 was it again brought back with this beautiful Cooke-Woods team livery. Here you can see another video that I realized with two of these models, and one of them had the coca-cola livery: ua-cam.com/video/ofJlf-NOOdY/v-deo.html
The Porsche 935 is one of the best sounding race cars of all time in my opinion! Yet it hurt my ears and frankly ruined the entire video for me when I had to hear Jean-Marc Merlin not heal toe downshifting this beautiful race car! It's not that difficult but everyone should know this very basic task that ALL race car drivers learn in their early days. Just a disgrace to what should've been a great video

This just sums up why we love speed and cars. The adrenaline is the best drug you can have!
The sound of that flat fan combined with the turbos simply NEVER gets old.
Oh yes, pure poetry 👍
I can almost feel the acceleration through the sound. Truly awesome stuff.
Thank you 😉👍
My childhood at Hockenheim in the late 70s seeing the Porsche's and M1's race.... wished my father was still there to enjoy this.
I'm sorry about your dad, it's nice that you remember these moments where you were with him.
Super! Thanks!

If I could afford one of these I would paint it silver charcoal metallic and drive it on the weekends to flea markets and to church on Sunday!

You are certainly right, but I think the extra torque provided by the Turbo helps to make up for this lack.
