Bone broth was produced in Paris in the 19th century and sold cheaply to the poor from kiosks. It was called a restorative (English spelling) and helped those at the poorest end of society combat numerous ailments. This became so popular that rooms were provided with tables and chairs, so the customers could keep warm and dry while consuming the broth. These establishments became restaurants. Does bone broth work? Tens of thousands of French people cannot be wrong.
Bone broth has been around for thousands of years. The Chinese used it as medicine for kidney function and digestive health. The ancients knew a thing or two! It’s good that we are learning from them still.
Bone broth as USA calls it was used by the asians, ME and Soviet countries for centuries before the west deigned to try and then again tries to take credit. I remember Arriving in the west and we grew and ate everything, One day in primary school it was my turn to share our dinner meal, with had meat, various veg, but the best part was cabbage steamed with bacon. THE REACTON OF THE WEST was horrified [ this is back in 1955] we were eating PIG FOOD. The west grew cabbages as well as raddishs, turnips for PIGS this was NOT for Human consumption.

I have been drinking one qt of chicken bone broth from Aldi's every morning past 6 months keto and fasting and I lost 35 pounds and people say I look 10 years younger so I am swearing by it. And I feel great
Always save chicken bones after cooking. I keep a Ziploc baggy in my freezer with cooked bones, next to all the vegetable cuttings and scraps (which I save to make soups and stocks). When you have enough, or once a month, drop them into an instant pot, cover with water, add a little apple cider vinegar, maybe some aromatics like celery, carrots, rosemary, thyme, etc, and then pressure cook for about 80 minutes. Or simmer on the stovetop overnight.
@@publiclypreaching …that’s what I did. Simmered for 38 hours…I had a huge crab pot…10 pounds of knuckles and shanks (bones), split, w/marrow. Getting up every 2 hours, to move pot to a different burner on stovetop…w/straining, packing in freeze bags….and omigoodness, the clean-up, was a total of 44 hours! Delicious! BUT…I buy it. I take it daily but I purchase the unflavored powder bone broth. I don’t skip a day. Just to be extra I take hydrolyzed collagen powder daily too. My hair & skin are amazing. I look like I’ve had a facelift because my eyebrows moved back to the proper place on my forehead. I had right knee pain, pain in the right ankle & pain under my left foot. After about 2 weeks of taking collagen (maybe even a little less because I was only taking for the beauty benefits initially), all of my pains were gone. I will never not take it. I buy it in bulk. Taking bone broth & collagen kicked off the change to keto. Removing all the junk & poison from my diet I’ve lost about 50 lbs so far. Getting the extra weight off my entire body, I haven’t felt this good since my 20s. This was about 6 months ago. I can’t wait to see what the next 6 months brings.

For anyone whom has osteoarthritis, I would not recommend Keto 😔...I did it for two years and should have given up after two months but I needed to loose weight. Consequently I have since been on a eating plan that is better suited to me and have lost over 9 stone on a balanced diet and supplementation of good probiotics and other supplements, plus organic fruit and veg, free range boiled eggs for breakfast everyday. I knew the collagen from bone broth was good. But I didn't realize it helped heal the gut and arthritis! Nor did I know arthritis was a immune disease.
Such a good point, we should use something that works especially if it something more natural. Without all of the programing about the research being so necessary when something works.
I would love to try chicken bone broth but I’m rightly concerned about things such as: 1. do they cook the chickens in aluminium foil? 2. do they pour the liquid broth into the plastic pouches or cartons while still hot/warm? 3. do they source chickens that have been pasture-raised and organic and not from overseas? The third one is easily possible to find out and make sure of as there are a lot of brands which are organic and grass fed etc, but the first two isn’t so. It’s very unlikely that they do things differently here. I even contacted an organic brand and they told me that they pour into plastic pouches while still hot which is stupid as far as I’m concerned since it’s no longer organic when the plastic leaches into it. I also asked about the foil but don’t recall getting a response. I also wouldn’t want to make bone broth myself as it’s too much faffing about and I don’t have the time or the kitchen space for doing any of that.

Dr. Eric, I’m a new sub. My dog ( Pit bull) was diagnosed with lymphoma cancer April 6 2021. My vet said she had only 6 months it was that bad. Of course I balled and was absolutely devastated and then I started researching non stop. Bone broth with an auto immune system made with all natural food has been phenomenal for Trudyloo. I swear by bone broth. I researched Western/ Eatern medicine to have made My own lymphoma cancer life saver as the veterinarian has been calling her a miracle dog as it’s June 18,2022. 15 months later when he truly thought 6 months was it. Bone broth has become a staple in my diet! It's good by itself, but if you add collagen powder and/or l-glutamine you can really boost the effects. Adding some fat like coconut oil or butter can be good if you're doing a bone broth fast. Since I'm battling severe gut/gallbladder issues currently, I'm avoiding fat for a short time to recover from ulcers. But a simple/liquid diet that consists of chicken, steamed cabbage, and bone broth has been a lifesaver. Thank you Dr. Berg for all your information. You have helped me more than anyone else, even more than my nutritionist!!!

I haven't used bone broth too much but one thing that really reset my gut bacteria was drinking Kombucha every day for six months. During that time I walked off over 20lbs. Anyway, I'll now use Kombucha occasionally for maintenance. However, it can't hurt to try some bone broth. 😊 Thanks doc!

Bone broth is perfect food for fasting because it has everything a body is made of, in one simple meal.
Thank you Dr Berg for all of your positive golden energy.
I've been experimenting with bone broth for the last few years and while I can't vouch for all of the claims made here, I can definitely say it makes my tummy feel great. Turkey is my favorite.
Thank you Dr. Berg. Your 4000+ videos all have been effective in helping billions.
I’ve been giving my daughter bone broth who has been diagnosed with Hashimotos. I’ve seen a huge change in her gut health. It’s still a work in progress. She recently got covid and I’m hoping it works in building her strength back.
Anusha Sivaraman, check out the youtubers Dr. Berry and his wife Neisha. She has hashimoto's and keeps the symptoms at bay with Ketovore, partial keto, but mainly the carnivore diet.
@@jenniferbeach6166 thank you so much. I will do that. These two years have been such an eye opener where Hashimoto is concerned. Hit me like a rock when she was diagnosed. We have chosen the alternative way and not use chemicals. Unfortunately the covid vaccines messed up her antibodies to an alarming high. And ironically she got covid! So working on restoring her back to good health.

I usually boil some bony beef for my Dog and keep the broth. I have not checked the severe pains on my legs that seems like arthritis. I noticed some changes but never thought it could be the broth I cook with. Thanks for the teaching .

bone broth is considered feast in south asian culture. my parents would cook it over night and it was served next day with different spices😊
Thanks a lot

Bone broth has been around for thousands of years. The Chinese used it as medicine for kidney function and digestive health. The ancients knew a thing or two! It’s good that we are learning from them still.
@@Essemm52 Bone Broth is Biblical!

Amazing, thanks for watching!
I have been drinking one qt of chicken bone broth from Aldi's every morning past 6 months keto and fasting and I lost 35 pounds and people say I look 10 years younger so I am swearing by it. And I feel great
Thank you. You have made my aging process so much better.
How long does it last if you refrigerate it
I was told to only simmer…Never boil to make bone broth …Dr Berg? Simmer vs boil?
@@debbielearman5477 i heard simmering is better because boiling can kill the nutrients and proteins
@@publiclypreaching …that’s what I did. Simmered for 38 hours…I had a huge crab pot…10 pounds of knuckles and shanks (bones), split, w/marrow. Everything in my fridge…no peeling, just chopped, in half or 1/4th:
Onions/garlic/zucchini/lemons/apples/carrots/green onions/lettuce/Himalayan salt/coarse black grind pepper/2 cups Bragg’s ACV and about 3+gallons of filtered water.
Getting up every 2 hours, to move pot to a different burner on stovetop…w/straining, packing in freeze bags….and omigoodness, the clean-up, was a total of 44 hours! Delicious! BUT…I buy it. Soooo much work!
@@debbielearman5477 wow 38 hours, I will be worried my electricity bill at the end of the month
30 days Ramadan fasting and 21 days bone broth diet cleared my skin problem. Thank u Dr. Berg
Plz explain your Ramazan bone broth diet
Thought it was in my brain, but bone broth is clearing my allergies.
@raheelabibi6946 Basically, I do fasting during ramadan, I eat before 4 am. I ate bone broth with shreded chicken, butter, broccoli, and carrots I squeeze a lemon to my soup🍲 🍋 Then I ate just an apple and boiled egg 🍎 🥚6:30pm.
U used chicken bone broth? Did it work?
@Ukasha87 I use halal chicken or beef bones, grass fed from the local farm. Also, during the fasting, I was on the low carb diet, no sugary food except honey or dates sometimes. I had psoriasis for 5 years, and it took only 21 days for it to cleared up
Thanks Dr. Berg, I will definitely try bone broth. I tried so many methods and eliminated so many food since I was diagnosed RA. The way you explained is simple and understandable. My RA is related to my gut for sure.
does it help u?
It's low in calories but packs a generous amount of protein. This makes it great for curbing your appetite and increasing lean muscle mass respectively.👍
Congrats on your progress. I am coming up on 1 year of healthy organic Keto and have lost 70 lbs. Currently doing a 19 day fast with mineral supplements every day, nutrience vitamins every day and bone broth every 3 days. Trying to break my plateau and loose the final 25 lbs to get to my ideal weight.

Switching to lard sorted out my autoimmune issues almost overnight.
Following...
@@tocolitic ..35 years of acne disappeared within a couple of weeks. I tried tallow, dripping, goose/duck fat, olive/coconut oil, bone broth, keto, carnivore..everything under the sun, but no improvement until I started using lard. Now I cook everything in it, I use it as moisturiser and sunscreen. A small area of sun damaged skin on my cheek that had been there for a few years disappeared almost overnight.
I think pigs are the closest in composition to humans of any animals..they use pig hearts in human transplants..I think lard is probably as close to human fat as you can get (without being a cannibal), and is probably the easiest to digest and absorb.
All I know is I don’t have crap skin anymore.
Also my gran used lard her whole life and lived to 105.
Where do you buy good quality lard?
@@brendadaviss I just use cheap supermarket stuff which does the job. There are many online specialists that do organic lard, but it’s pretty expensive.
@@Plainsimple67 I just use cheap supermarket stuff. Anything that I normally cooked in other fat, butter or oil, I have replaced with lard, so eggs, meat, vegetables cooked in a frying pan etc..everything 🐷😁.
I never felt right on no carb or very little. I had to take things to help me go to the bathroom and for feeling lethargic and low energy. Getting headaches and stomach cramps.
Thankfully I did a great deal of research and now am so much the better. I am hoping to avoid both hips and knees having to be replaced. My mobility has improved from hardly being able to move (in an enormous amount of pain) to now being able to walk with one crutch and on good days without 🙏🏼
Chicken feet and cow legs are best. Always add: cilantro, carrots, onion and a stick of astragalus & black pepper (help absorb nutrients)
My gastritis went away, I can eat spicy food w/out diarrhea or burning. Lots of people overcome their sickness after a day or 2 after my broth. I haven’t got sick for 15yrs +

Definately gonna try this, I like the decoy theory, makes sense for me 👍
Such a good point, we should use something that works especially if it something more natural. Without all of the programing about the research being so necessary when something works.
I would love to try chicken bone broth but I’m rightly concerned about things such as:
1. do they cook the chickens in aluminium foil?
2. do they pour the liquid broth into the plastic pouches or cartons while still hot/warm? 3. do they source chickens that have been pasture-raised and organic and not from overseas?
The third one is easily possible to find out and make sure of as there are a lot of brands which are organic and grass fed etc, but the first two isn’t so. It’s very unlikely that they do things differently here. I even contacted an organic brand and they told me that they pour into plastic pouches while still hot which is stupid as far as I’m concerned since it’s no longer organic when the plastic leaches into it. I also asked about the foil but don’t recall getting a response. I also wouldn’t want to make bone broth myself as it’s too much faffing about and I don’t have the time or the kitchen space for doing any of that.
Yes, I love Zsófia Clemens! I used her tips on constipation/diarrhea which helped me the most with these situations, since you published your interviews with her 💞💞💞 Thank you for all your had work Dr Berg!

Dr. Eric, I’m a new sub. My dog ( Pit bull) was diagnosed with lymphoma cancer April 6 2021. My vet said she had only 6 months it was that bad. I swear by bone broth. I researched Western/ Eatern medicine to have made
My own lymphoma cancer life saver as the veterinarian has been calling her a miracle dog as it’s June 18,2022. 15 months later when he truly thought 6 months was it. Wrong answer. I would do this same regime if I was diagnosed with the C word. I can’t say enough about bone broth verses chicken broth. Thank you as I’m binge watching all your videos! I wish all love and peace 🌹💫🌹💫🌹💫🌹💫🌹💫🌹
