  • Echoes of the Tongass showcases the historic struggle to save Alaska's wilderness. Set in the mid-twentieth century, the film follows a group of Sitka locals as they strive to start the first conservation organization in Southeast Alaska. Faced with criticism from the public, and threats from industry, this dedicated group of wilderness leaders must overcome severe adversity as they realize their mission.
    With its simple inspiring message, Echoes of the Tongass shines as a beacon of hope and sets a formative foundation example for success in the current environmental struggle.
    This film was made by Pioneer Videography in collaboration with the Sitka Conservation Society.

    I’ve lived in the Tongass since 1975. It’s without a doubt the most beautiful, magical, and wondrous place in the world! It’s all trees and water ❤️

    So the need* to move as a nation of people, (to whom this public land belongs to) is now !!! And to set up physical protection of this environment is of the utmost foremost lead priority now 2020
