Honestly I love gunpla and gundam but I've really fallen out of the hobby the older I got I just couldn't justify paying so much. When I knew what it cost the company was less then 10% of what I was paying for it. It costs an arm and a leg for most gunpla yet the resources to create a gunpla are unbelievable cheap it just doesn't make sense
Ur not only paying for the cost to make the kit, ur also paying for the engineering that goes into making a gunpla kit which in my opinion justifies its price. The reason why this markup is so huge is because of the quality that you get from one of these kits in terms of build experience and aesthetics is remarkable and that is what people are willing to pay for, not what it cost bandai to make the kit itself.
