Man, I'm not even particularly into guns, but the way you explain and showcase everything about these just makes me super interested. Your voice helps, too! Very soothing.
I just discovered this channel. And I love it already. Your attention to detail to both the in-game variants...and it's real world counterparts..is very nice to see. I've often had this discussion with fellow Resident Evil enthusiasts...whom insist, that Barry's sidearm of choice. Was just a modified Colt Python..nice to see, that I was right all along..and it was in fact, the Colt Anaconda..which sadly..is no longer in production, along with the Python. Both beautiful firearms, that I would've loved to have in my collection. You've earned a sub sir.
The modelers of the Silver Serpent got the Colt Anaconda and Colt Python mixed up. The revolver featured the size and bore diameter of the .44 Anaconda, but had the frame of the Python with the single screw on top of the trigger. Still, I would strictly consider the Silver Serpent as a custom Colt Anaconda, mainly due to the bore size.
Correction at 2:38 The Colt Python is not the little brother of the Colt Anaconda as it was first introduced much earlier, and internally isn't similar to it at all. The Anaconda is an upscaled version of the Colt Trooper as it uses a coil mainspring, while the Python uses a leaf mainspring (giving the Python a much smoother trigger pull).
We don't see this as much of a correction, we mention the Python being the little brother of the Colt Anaconda more so based on it's size and caliber, not so much the age of the guns, along with taking a play on the designated names, as the Anaconda is the bigger serpent
i didn't know this gun looks very similar to my actual Smith & Wesson (8 3/4 inch) Performance Center .44 Magnum revolver with the same color wood grip, unfluted cylinder, fluted barrel, silver in color, picatinny rails on both top and bottom for a red dot sight and laser/light combo. unreal. the gun came out in 2014 and I was the very first ones in California to get one in 2015 because I had a dozen phone conversations with the California State of Firearms Beaureu director chief (a woman) about allowing the gun to be on the California Roster of handguns for sale as soon as it passed the "drop test." As soon as it did, it was imported from a different state and it was in my hands.
Another fun fact! At 5:32 we see Barry pull back on the hammer his version two revolver Colt's Revolver Action has the cylinder turn clockwise for the next round, However in Smith and Wesson's case the cylinder turns counter clockwise.
