This is me. To my surprise, gt3 was not faster. We raced from about 160-250 before this vid and i was about half a car away, after 250 we are even until 290. I have a vid in my profile doing 302kmh with a passenger.

+Peugeot 905 as fe1138lix has already said, most cars have only one as anything more is unnecessary, especially on a $70k car. Do they really think corvette owners care about gas that much? It isn't any wonder GM almost went under with some of their brainless design decisions.

+Worldwide Darts - I used to blow past them in the outside lane at 110~ 120 mph. The speed difference is at 60 mph. I used to do this deliberately. In America the outside lane is the fast lane. This guy however in autobahn was doing over 230 kph so give em so slack he was trying to go fast as he could...
On our autobahn there are even worse left lane cruisers, if you drive with 200kp/h be cautious, because you have to overtake people to their left lane and you can bet there are many people at speeds way below yours with seemingly no mirrors and no turning signals when they move left with 50 kp/h lesser than you.

C7 Z51 ran a 2:53.8 at Car and Driver's Lightning Lap. The 997 GT3 RS ran a 2:55.9. Is the 991 GT3 RS at least 2 seconds faster than the old car? Probably, but lets cut out all this "if there was a Circuit" or "some curves" nonsense, because you look foolish. In reality, these two are actually much closer than given credit for.
Rather unusually (for a European video) I haven't actually seen any of those comments yet.
I have the Z06/Z07 with L3 aero. It hits a wall at 185mph or so. But remove a few pieces and adjust a few more and it's clear sailing to 205mph. The steering gets busy though.
Both are phenomenal machines!... what a great sounding motor too!

You're type a drivers kills every dynamics regarding "motorway" and "autobahn". Use both lanes all the time, and let others pass.

the stock C7 weighs over 300pounds less than the supercharged Z06. And if the Z06 is with Z07 package it´s perhaps slower than a stock C7 on autobahn.
But in acceleration from a roll (autobahn) the Z06 is a monster, no doubt.
That is very interesting. Here in Brazil, the C7 didn't go that good against even some 997 GT3s. They were closer to the 997/991 Carreras S . In fact, in some top speed races on an airstrip (3KM ), those 997 GT3, whitout the rear wing, were toe to toe with my stock C6 Z06!
What part of the autobahn is this? Looks like the same bit the 911R was tested to 200mph on :D

Dont know why American car companies manufactures tall gear ratio for their cars, this new 7 speed gearbox should be closer and the 6th gear should be short with 7th the tallest
1st Reason, the Car have enough Power.
It dont need to be pushed to the Redline, like some small Turbo engines.
At 2000rpm the Corvette have more Newtonmeters than most Cars at full Peak.
2nd Reason, its nice for Crusing.
When you drive 200Kmh at 1500rpm, its a real nice Travel Sound.
Not like in a Porsche, where 200Kmh is +3000rpm.
When you drive 200Kmh for 1 Hour it become Noisey.

It is called Overdrive. Its for saving Fuel and for driving High Speeds at low RPM.
@kallo182 if you go back in time when 5 speed was the main gearboxes around the 5th gear could've been used for saving fuel or to top end the car this is how the 7th gear should've been set up, and yes i've driven many cars with 6 and 7 gears

+GTBOARD.com It is. I'm not the police but for that distance you kept to the Focus this would be easily seen as constraint and that for right. Not keeping the distance is a very hard offense in Germany, much worse then being to fast. And for a reason, you have people driving there with their family which don't want to put their life at risk. I'm not an ignorant, I loved it driving a GTR flat out but I always kept the distance. Question of respect.
If GM didn't have to deal with dumbass MPG laws the car would have little to no competition.

the idiots in right lane need to stay there, it's a passing lane, and they're not going fast enough to pass...GFTO!! the German autobahn has been corrupted by too much traffic, meaning too much immigration. it's not the Germany I knew 10 years ago, when I'd put my M3 up to 175MPH / 280 KPH on the A5 richtung Darmstadt!!!

BMW e46 facelift coupe as it looks like it has the led brake lights though it could be an earlier e46 with the rear lights upgraded to match the facelift. My guess is he thought going close to that car's max speed (if 330 petrol 155mph limited) was fast enough for the derestricted lane until a car with 2.5 times the power drives up behind him. Humble pie time

+GTBOARD.com Just an American here but I'm assuming this is part of the Autobahn? If so I thought you weren't supposed to flash the high beams to signal someone to move. it's also probably a good thing that car was there since there was traffic right around that corner.
+Horsedick.MPEG Not supposed to flash? You obviously have never driven outside of the US. Demonstrate this objectively in a law or guideline somewhere in German legislation. The driver is most probably legally passing on the left on a presumed unrestricted section of the autobahn. Flashing on the autobahn is a practice to let the driver ahead that someone behind is passing.
I understand the point of flashing but it was my belief using the left turn indicator and staying staggered on the left hand sign was more acceptable, I know it's not necessarily illegal but definitely rude especially to do it in succession like he did. He also(In my opinion) didn't leave a safe level of space in between the cars as he approached. Doesn't seem like 2 car lengths is appropriate at 120+ MPH. The corvette driver also expects the car ahead to merge to the right lane at 220KPH while the traffic is maybe traveling at 90-100 K's, yet again unsafe and also very rude. I still stand by my point that the corvette driver is luck the guy was there and didn't move because if he had been going 270-280 K's around that corner we might now have seen this video.
