I have found that the loot respawn trick is best used on the higher end objects..like tool chests and barrels and cop cars. There is far too much scrap iron to use it on basic cars and scrap piles./..it will drive you nuts. I would also recommend when starting out dive near the starting island and gather enough iron to make as you base from metal instead of wasting wood...also make the metal barrels instead of wooden chests to further save wood.
@@OZTRON Yep. I bet this place with +1 wider metal foundations around it and spikes and wire, will be a great way to hold them off while you snipe from the floor above. gg.
Thanks for the tips buddy, for someone who's played on console his whole life and bought a PC just for this game I need all the help I can get. Thanks brother, have a good one.
TIP: There's enough materials around the Castaway island to build the Paddle Boat, which is handy when you're diving for materials because you can stash them in the chest on the boat between dives.
That was a great video.. I have been playing sunckenland for a while now and you putting the base there, never thought of that but now i will be useing it when i get ready to put out my videos..Thanks again it was so useful. Have a blssed day.
Found some more useful tips. It is safe to build your base on the trader outpost. I suggest laying your first foundation just off the edge of the top floor, and build about 5 of these before building your actual base. Mutant attacks do not damage foundations, and do not attack the merchant. Those 5 foundations will make a straight narrow path to your actual base, a bottleneck so they can only attack from one predictable direction. This also, obviously gives easy access to the trader, and several respawning resource nodes. Also The Mansion is a fairly safe location to go diving for resources. There's one room blocked by a chunk of steel reinforced asphalt. You'll need the pickaxe to clear it. The room beyond has loot definitely worth the effort. I scored a bottle of fine wine, and two blueprints, including the motorboat.
This should be a very helpful video. I have had five play throughs in the three days I’ve owned this game and I’ve tried building on the cliff three or four times and ended up scrapping it, now, the latest iteration I have started building on the abandoned building in the villages. No idea if that’s a good idea or not yet.
Yeah you can build wherever you want, just keep in mind that if you're building on an island or outpost that the Devs are still making adjustments to island and building locations so there could be a chance things move on you after an update.
TIP: when you first start playing and don't have anything in your toolbar, you can drag items into it from your inventory to use as extra inventory slots.
If you quickslot items while looting it opens up slots in your backpack. Also put on the clothing when you can so it doesnt take up a slot in your bag.
Great video and tips :) But damn you tested my OCD lol :D Running out of backpack space because you leave 1-2 full rows of stuff when you go for more ressources instead of clearing the backpack at home first. Thats my tip for you ;) Im sure you do on normal gameplay but that tested me lol :D Besides that i loved the tips so thanx for that :)
LOL, yeah I'm not too organized sometimes. When I'm doing these videos it's hard to keep my thoughts organized and keep my inventory organized at the same time. 😂
Have you noticed any difference when swimming with the hammer in your hand or without? I keep taking it out of my hand to swim, but I’m not sure I need to be doing that.
My next run, I think building directly over the police station would be good. Since while away we can save log, and then when done with that new location, we return home, and can do a quick dive down to re-loot the ammo and gear out of the respawned police cars... if we dont fully empty them out each time...?
I’m also curious and probably have more research to do to find this answer, but do you build one base and then branch out further and further from that base, or do you build several bases and hopscotch your way across the map?
In my first few plays, I was looting everything I came across and ended up with more scrap that I knew what to do with and having to build storage just to store my scrap. In this latest play, I’ve decided to only scavenge components cloth, etc. as I need it for whatever I’m trying to to build next.
Did you just say if you have a packing box you can actually move things? That would be a huge game changer for me as sometimes I put stuff down and end up scrapping the entire game because I can’t move things.
Yeah there is a packaging box you can make. You use it to move equipment around. I think you need to upgrade your research bench to level two to get it.
TIP: You can pin the recipes of objects that you want to craft so that you don't have to go in and out of the build menu when you forget what it was that you needed to craft those objects.
No reason, it was just as an example. When first starting the game it really doesn't matter too much. After day 5 or so, it's good to start switching to scrap. But if you build near that island then wood is easy.
arrows/crossbow bolts are worth more than the wood/scrap metal it takes to make them. you can clean out the trader by buying their wood/metal, and selling it back to them as arrows/bolts
Awesome, that's good info. 👍🏻 I'm just too impatient to try and figure out what all the items are worth. I just wish the items for sell would change variety every few days or something. And would be cool to setup another vendor at the out edge with advanced parts or something.
value seems to have been fixed in the latest patch, where arrows/bolts are worth less now than buying the wood/scrap from the trader and converting them.@@leenelson6805
Games great been makes loads of content ourselves over on the channel too the guys and I are loving the game and waiting on the next updates to see what new things they add in hopefully more stuff like locks and stuff for more splitting up into clans or something soon
Awesome, yeah I'm excited to see where the Devs take this game. They seem pretty active with the updates. And their road map seems to suggest a lot more to come.
@@OZTRON you aint lying brother. Ive been looking for a game like this one. Not sure why maybe the theme but i really enjoy this one. Anyways good videos man keep it going and good luck out there
Tip: when you find toolboxes with yellow cover and trashbins, don't empty it just leave a single piece of metal so that it won't be destroyed. Leave a mark so that whenever you log back into the game you can always come back to it and get 0 - 5 components
That's because I made this video 3 months ago during an earlier development version where the Loot did not respawn after you coveted it. There have been a lot of updates since then. I'll have new videos soon covering the big upcoming dev news. 👍
Yeah, but I bet they add a time duration to the item spawn. Like with the trees and fish. Those come back after a bit of time has gone by. It should solve the login/logout hack.

Yeah I agree... And that's a great tip on the metal. Wood is defiantly the most needed resource since its needed to process ingots and food etc.
Thanks for the base design and concept.. i have started to like this game
Thanks, yeah a good base location will really help when you are a higher tier and start getting attacked a lot.

I have been having a really rough go of this and your starter idea has helped a lot, thanks!!!

Dont forget to mix the mushrooms and strawberrys for stamina mix!
Yeah I should do that more.

Haven't really swam around with the hammer much. I'm not sure it makes any difference.

I will give you a nice tip and trick. Put food. Torch plus healing in your hotbars. Saves space

Good side play type game to your main play, for now until updates hopefully. The heli is fun.

I’m also curious and probably have more research to do to find this answer, but do you build one base and then branch out further and further from that base, or do you build several bases and hopscotch your way across the map?
I just build one base. But you can clear islands and outposts of bandits and place a flag to secure it.
@@OZTRON Cool. Secure as in no respawn enemies, yes?

Yeah, scrap is easier to get since the last majore update. You will need lots of storage.

Yes if you place a flag you will claim the area as yours and now more bad dudes spawn. 👍
good giude but use metal insthead of wood .
Oh yes, this was just the quick basic setup. Next will be converting to metal and steel. 👍

Yeah, exactly, that's what I do now on almost all the loot and scrap.
update once you open the box if you leave anything or take nothing it explodes and the resources will be bagged.
Ahh yeah, that happens now. Back when i made the vide it was a little different. Thanks 👍
IT NEEDS X OR SHIFT TO RAISE AND LOWER FOUNDATIONS WITH THE MOUSE WHEEL!
Yeah that would be a nice feature for sure.
is the loot random?
Yes Loot is random, and will partially respawn every 10 days. 👍
All the wood. Gonna get aaaall the wood. (leaves piles of wood behind due to full inventory) Hah no offense intended, just thought it was kinda funny.
I tried to get all the wood... LOL
like no bad boys
Yep no bad boys. 👍
You will need a lot of coal when you start making steel
Yes so true. But luckily it's easy to get when you start cooking.
Everything respawns, I dont know why you keep saying that if you loot till the container breaks, it doesn't respawn.
