So. What exactly were you doing regarding fixing the back button ? Not clear. I have this problem and I am curious if your fix worked.

Just did all this. I used rubbing alcohol, cotton buds and even a bowl of soapy water for the plastic and rubber parts.
The Left/Back button works fine now.
My kids uses this remote and it was "oily" on the circuit board contacts.
Works as new.
