  • This is actually quite rare, 707s at Epsom are not at all common. My speculation is that they normally run around the rush hour, because they're longer and have more space than the normal class 455s. Makes sense, as this video was filmed at around 17:00. This was the second time I've seen one here since 2019, the first being earlier this year in May.
In futher detail, the class 707s are a modern and sophisticated fleet of electric multiple unit (EMU) trains operated by South Western Railway. Designed to offer passengers a comfortable and efficient commuting experience, these trains have become a staple on various routes within the South Western Railway network.
With their sleek and aerodynamic design, the class 707s are equipped with state-of-the-art features to ensure a seamless journey for passengers. The spacious interiors offer ample seating, providing a comfortable environment for both short trips and longer commutes. The trains are designed to accommodate a high passenger capacity, helping to alleviate congestion during peak travel times.
The class 707s are powered by advanced electric traction systems, making them environmentally friendly and capable of high speeds. This technology not only reduces emissions but also contributes to a quieter and smoother ride for passengers. Equipped with modern amenities such as Wi-Fi, power outlets, and dedicated spaces for luggage, these trains cater to the needs of today's tech-savvy and connected commuters.
The introduction of the 707s has significantly improved the travel experience for South Western Railway passengers, offering reliability, comfort, and efficiency as they navigate the busy and dynamic rail network, however sadly it is soon to be replaced by new class 701 trains, which are close to the exact same as the 707s.
