Took Tuk Tuk rides to the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) and Royal (Grand) Palace, and Temple of the Reclining Buddha, (Wat Pho) and a few other temples over the days I was there. I was in the US Air Force in 1972-3 and went to Bangkok on R@R for 5 days. Was drunk too much but went to Patpong Rd and brought a gogo beautiful thai girl back to my hotel. Also went to the zoo and a kung fu movie. Best 5 days of my life just wish I hadn't drunk as much as I did.

I was looking for THIS cut of the song, as it's the best, and it's the cut I remember hearing on the radio back in the 80's. I decided to watch the video for $#!TS and giggles, and found it to be a tasteful, colorful video edit that fits very well with the song. I wish some original video scenes of Murray Head singing some of the lyrics were featured interspersed in it, though.

I was in the U.S. Navy Dec. 1998 to April 2003. In 2000 the ship I was on, The USS Reuben James FFG57, and together with the USS Germantown, we went to The Philippines and Thailand. We had U.S. Marines with us. They served as Shore Patrol. I must say, those were the 2 best ports I ever went too.

55 years ago today [09/16/1966]...I got off the plane that brought me to Thailand, and I spent "One Night In Bangkok..." The next day I was off to Udorn RTAFB in Northern Thailand for my assignment with the 432nd Tactical Reconnaissance Wing... My next flights took me over North Vietnam.
I was in USAF and spent one week in Bangkok hotel waiting to go to Udorn airbase in northern Thailand. Spent several days in Bangkok also when waiting to leave Thailand. Then went to Philippines for 16 months. This was from 1968 to 1970 during Vietnam problem. Great adventure.

Iwould advise anyone to go to Thailand.Bangkok,Chonburi and Hua Hin are great.
I would recommend some other places in Chonburi than the provincial capital, mostly a bit further south, like Naklua and Jom Tien.

55 years ago today [09/16/1966]...I got off the plane that brought me to Thailand, and I spent "One Night In Bangkok..." The next day I was off to Udorn RTAFB in Northern Thailand for my assignment with the 432nd Tactical Reconnaissance Wing... My next flights took me over North Vietnam.

I was in USAF and spent one week in Bangkok hotel waiting to go to Udorn airbase in northern Thailand. Spent several days in Bangkok also when waiting to leave Thailand. Then went to Philippines for 16 months. This was from 1968 to 1970 during Vietnam problem. Great adventure.
