How to create a Golden Image aka Golden Master for linked clones in VMware

Follow these steps to create a Golden Image VM that can be used for creating any number of linked clones. Subsequently, they can be used for testing software, isolating potentially dangerous or infected files, running older software, training, or just playing around with.
There are several reasons why you should use linked clones instead of full clones in your projects:
Space efficiency: Linked clones only use the space required to store the changes made to the parent virtual machine, whereas full clones duplicate the entire virtual machine, resulting in much larger storage requirements.
Time efficiency: Linked clones can be created much faster than full clones, as they do not need to duplicate the entire virtual machine.
Resource efficiency: Linked clones consume fewer resources, such as CPU and memory, as they do not require the duplication of all virtual machine components.
Deployment speed: Linked clones can be deployed much faster than full clones, as they do not need to be created from scratch.
Overall, linked clones offer greater efficiency and convenience in terms of storage, time, resources, maintenance, and deployment compared to full clones.
