I use that Ibanez, except in black. Wife found it at a yardsale for $90, and it's been my only studio bass since. Sounds pretty good, if you know what you're doing. I was excited to see my bass in a review, because I've really never been able to find any information about it and have been wondering if it has ceramic pickups or not, but you didn't mention that. I'll just have to take them out and look, I guess LOL
My first bass was a gasser 😎 in middle school, my parents got me the 200 to practice my tablature for the middle school band. It's worn, but shakes an entire room given the right amp
Nice video. Carlos did a great job demoing and explaining.
I gotta admit I was expecting to like the Squire Jazz bass over the Ibanez, but after hearing the Ibanez, I like it more.
Ehh tocayo thanks for video, super helpful. I bought the Ibanez not knowing wtf i was getting myself into as my first guitar, i just liked the color and price so you answered a lot of questions lol
I enjoy the Squier tones more. They are deeper, richer and bassier. When I throwing tracks down I want a bass tone to fill out the bottom end. Ill take the Squier. GREAT VIDEO
YES! Basses!!!
Tremendous sound comparison!
Well done post production, I see you🫡🫡🫡
I have the GSR200 Mikro (I have other bases, but that’s the only one I own from their 200 line). For such a small bass, it’s pretty punchy and has good bass. I use it as my travel instrument. I paid only 150 for it on sale. I don’t regret it one bit. Budget or not, it holds its own for what it is. My first bass was the original GSR200, but I gave that to a family member who really wanted a bass, but was in a rough spot financially. The Mikro took its place as a travel bass. Plus my other ones are 6 strings and uhh…my back doesn’t like hauling them around all the time.
rip to bro’s back
Heck, if you know the sound and feel you want from a bass, and if you know how to adjust bass sounds, this Ibanez bass can handle anything. I've used it even in my pro recordings and was satisfied and surprised of how good it actually is, even if it's considered an entry level bass. Having said that, I believe the basses considered high end are overpriced. This cheaper entry level Ibanez bass can really handle it all, if you know how to set up bass sound. Plus, you don't need to pay a fortune.
Me, a lifelong pro player: any Ibanez bass can be adjusted to sound like any Fender or Squire but a Fender or Squire can’t be adjusted to sound like an Ibanez.
Fender/Squire is if your wanting that old school tone, Ibanez if your wanting any tone.
Me personally, I own a large number of Ibanez bass’s and one Fender P Bass, my P Bass is somewhere around the house collecting dust.
Bring the p bass and any Ibanez bass to the studio and see what the producer instantly wants.
Wow amazing comment for me. Thanks alot. 🙏
They both sound distinctively different. The Ibanez sounds more trebly for lack of a better term.
twangy...
Siempre IBANEZ.!!!!!
I use a $2 Panasonic 9 volt from the dollar store.. I also always carry a spare👍👍
Is the Ibanez really unplayable without the 9v battery or is it just that you can't use the phat bass boost option?
Definately, Ibanez!!
So am i right to say that the ibanez gsr200 has passive pickup and the gsr200 gio is active?
the 4 button gio gsr200 is the one which is active
hi,is ibanez more power?
Very good video, I like the Ibanez a little better.
I'm wondering why not at least have a Affinity P/J bass on hand to show Squire does have one too 🤔
Is the Ibanez really unplayable without the 9v battery or is it just that you can't use the phat bass boost option?
I have the standard GSR200, it is entirely unplayable if the 9V battery goes out.
I prefer the jazz bass
Word.
A better comparison would be the Squier Jazz vs an Ibanez GSR180. That one is a passive JJ pickup configuration. Unlike the GSR200 with its active PJ.
he already explained why he compared with the active GSR200 and not a passive one.
I’m guessing you maintenance your strings more often than I do… that would have to be one hell of a battery. Just keep the crappy Fender on a guitar stand behind you in case battery goes. And Oh… Duracell Baby!!!
Duracell batteries swell and mess up gear when they go bad. I do not use Duracell for any of my musical gear.
J’s all day!
Actually, the Fender is warm and solid compare with the Ibanez.
is this Chris with tatoo, tan, and hair extension?
Reverse split pick up on that Ibanez
Play the dang guitar sheesh
good,,,, account
whereas the Ibanez has more versatiliy. The Squire sounds better.
The Fender sounds better.
El Ibanez está más feo, pero suena mejor, me gustó su sonido ❤️
The Yamaha TRBX basses in the same price range blow these away.
Your compression settings are not great. Try using a clipper to bring that spike down.
Burger . Is it fat burger
Bro,honestly, you made these both sound bad. No hard feelings.
