Thanks for this really great interview with one of my heroes! Plus: Thanks for the question on the score for "Star Wars" - that was something that I was very curious about, too. Joe´s reply made me laughing my ass off pretty bad. Anyway, you did an amazing job! Cheers from Cologne/Germany!
Loved the interview. I don't know if it's a shyness thing, but there aren't that many interviews with Joe on internetland... well not before this album came along that is. ...and "The Seventh One" is my favourite Toto album! - In about 1990, that album served as the hook and my path to discovering what would to this day (and forever) remain as my favourite band of all. Be in no doubt that I love all the frontmen that have taken lead vocals for this band but it is Joe's voice that had the best fit in my opinion; "The Seventh One" album is such a sweet spot.
Joseph Williams is one of my favourite singers and my favourite Toto singer. Can't Stop Loving you is my all time favourite song. But I do still wonder what is true from the stories about Joseph leaving in '88. More than1 source says he had to leave because of a combination of personal issues, drug use and conflicts with the other members. But Joe never really mentions any drug use in his interviews, so maybe it isnt even true?

He mentions in this interview why he left the group.
Wait I've just realised that you look a little bit like Steve Porcaro did in the 80's 😂
