So glad you guys got around to these! Although it's been quickly summarized already, here's my breakdown. You're mission is to hunt down and kill a massive nuclear submersible aircraft carrier (the Alicorn) that's gone rogue. The captain has lost his mind and his crew are fanatical. His goal is to hit your capital city with a nuke and kill millions, absolutely no other strategic goal. No strategy, no mercy, only to rain death upon the land. You have one opportunity, a narrow straight the sub has to traverse before it can get into range to fire the weapon through a massive railgun. Awakening starts. You're escorting aircraft that can drop sonar buoys that can detect the sub when it arrives, but it beat you there. Waves of its fighters and drones start taking out the planes you're supposed to protect... Only 1 needs to survive to complete the mission, but your side's death toll mounts fast. After flying close to a possible detection to confirm where it is, your allied ships fire anti-sub weapons to force it to surface. It does, and it doesn't go well for your side. Alicorn starts. Your allied ships get wiped out in seconds. Alicorn has an insane arsenal. Anti-air guns, surface to air missiles, railguns, drones, fighters... and it keeps hiding under water only to reappear to try and kill you from behind. You have to destroy its ability to dive and keep it where you can hit it. Eventually you make the captain surrender... Hero of Comberth Harbor starts. It's a lie, they aren't surrendering. They are just buying time so they can get a direct hit on the city. They have two shots, can you get past all its defenses before they can hit your capital? The clock is ticking...
The Alicorn in the DLC of AC7 is a submersible aircraft carrier, capable of launching piloted aircraft and UAVs, its runway can also become a railgun capable of shooting multiple projectiles, most notably its nuclear shells used in hope of reigning death upon its enemy, its made by the country Yuktobania but was bought buy the enemy country in this game Erusea, the name Alicorn itself is a winged unicorn often depicted as symbol of evil and death, btw, the songs I requested before "Scinfaxi" and "Hrimfaxi" are related to the Alicorn, but I'll wait till you react to those songs to spill the beans
Here it is. The part where you fight a sea monster. Almost every other ace combat antagonist had some semblance of sanity. But Torres? No. He wishes to kill a million people not to "save ten million more" like he says, but just because he has the means to do so. Being stuck underwater in a metal tube for 692 days doesn't do good things to your mental state, doesn't it?
The songs in Ace Combat series just hit different. When you play the game, you recognize the emotions it tries to showcase to you and you *feel* it. I also highly recommend Sighthound from Ace Combat 7, it's basically playing during the most tense moment in the first DLC mission. Seriously scary stuff.
In Alicron OST, is where the scene for the biggest battle between the Pilot and the largest Super-Submarine named the 'Alicorn' where it can get the name from. The Hero of the Comberth Harbor is the last battle between the single Pilot and the Submarine from the Legendary Captain.
Ace Combat 7 sold 3 million copies. It's currently on sale Ace Combat 7 maverick edition( Top Gun) is 15 euros. This is from a dlc mission where you are trying to stop them from launching a nuke and ending millions of lives. 1 stage you are trying to find the submarine, 2 stage you found it and need to destroy it, 3 stage you need to destroy the cannon before it shoots the nuke
Hush from Ace Combat 7 is one of my favorite tracks from the entire series. It really puts forth a feeling of preventing the end of the world from happening.
“How else could you have ended that” Maybe listen to the soundtrack version of Hero of Comberth harbor and not the game version. The soundtrack version has a proper, slow buildup and a dramatic, climactic ending. The Game version (the one you listened to) skips the buildup and loops around. Both versions are god tier tracks, but I prefer the soundtrack version. A few months back, didn’t you say you were going to do both? Either way, another fantastic video.
Agreed, I have to say the OST version of Hero of Comberth Harbor is definitely more dynamic. Also a different ending worth checking out. There are really good covers for all 3 of these by our good metal legend as well. Totally check those out at some point.
