You are a lifesaver Peter! I just purchased a 1927 Buick Standard Six that was fully restored in the early 2000’s but has been sitting e old fuel in the tank, Steward Vacuum Gasoline System (fuel Pump) and looks exactly like the one you demonstrated here in your video!!
I just removed the fuel pump today and plan to take it apart, throughly clean it, and replace all the gaskets this coming week!
Your video was exactly what I was looking for as I have no experience with a prewar car!!!!!
    Thanks again
    Will-

Hi Peter, I'm working on a 1926 Humber at the moment and it's fitted with an auto vac system. My question is, is there anyway fuel could be getting past the valve and flowing into the engine via the suction pipe? We're having flooding problems. Thanks in advance Andrew

Just spotted this so sorry for delay …. In a word yes the induction valve is like a one way valve and flash guard. Cheep and easy to replace also check that the device thats shuts off the valve when the fuel suction bowls is full. That carb have you got on?

Having said the above I’d still suspect the carb……. Make sure the float is good and the inlet needle valve is stopping the flow of fuel as this can cause bad flooding.

Excellent video thank you. Just taken apart the Autovac on my 1931 Sunbeam and it is missing the air inlet valve top piece, also the one way petrol inlet valve is not there, just an inlet connection. Is the one way valve vital do you think?

michael Ralph Michael..... the fuel inlet in not a two way Valve it’s just an open elbow. The two way valve is the one with the pipe going to the manifold and where the autovac gets its suction.
the air in let you can get from Autovac.co.uk or, it could be Autovac.com also all the other parts you may need.
