- Sir Edward Elgar (1857 - 1934) was an English composer. Although Elgar is often regarded as a typically English composer, most of his musical influences were not from England but from continental Europe.
The piano solo transcription of Elgar's famous "Love's Greeting" by August Fraemcke. I prefer it in a slower, more tenderly flowing tempo.

wow, this is so beautiful. I think the tempo you chose, and the tenderness of your approach gives the feeling of a more mature love. Love the way you play it slow in the beginning and suddenly part B with the accelerated tempo then back to the slow tempo. You play it so expressively!

I'm trying to find a tempo like this performance on Spotify for a playlist, but it doesn't exist. My only bad thing to say is that this isn't on Spotify. It comforted me during the first few weeks of COVID-19 in the States and has stuck with me as a comforting song. Thank you.

I’m glad there are still people who find expression better than showing off. My piano teacher used to always get on me for not playing the score correctly when I was really just playing using my own expression

1:32 Are you actually fully reading score while playing? Wondering how you make big leaps no mistake without look at the key.
I often watch my hands whilst I'm playing since I usually have memorised most of the notes. I use the sheet music as a guide and a 'safety net' in case of a memory slip. If you watch closely you can actually see the reflection of my face staring right at my hands. Oh if only I can make those big leaps without looking! Piano playing would be a whole lot easier!
@@MXChan I look at the keys all the time! Even if the music is right in front of my face! It's mainly because my eyesight is not great, for someone my age. I am getting new glasses soon (trust me to buy cheap, I chose the designer frames cos they were reduced and I had a voucher!! I ended up paying a whopping £1.95 for a pair of £99 frames but that's a different story which I still told you because I can't stop typing.) Nice playing!

Thank you for bringing me my first Elgar piano piece! Lovely use of a fully dynamic range. The Kawai sounds nice. The Acoustic Rabbit-hole wants to know: Did you mic it from the speaker itself, or route the signal from an audio output?
Thank you for appreciating my music. Kawai digital pianos allow USB so I saved the audio directly into a USB stick as a WAV file.
@@MXChan Ah! Well, it worked. The digital piano samples all came together as one clean piano recording. Also, one never has to worry about tuning with this kind of instrument! Mr. MX, while we are in dialogue, i have been singing the vocal part over your video of Arvo Part's "Spiegel im Spiegel." I'd love to post it on my channel! I'm also adding crystal wine glasses over the melody.

@@Stevenson918 This is a digital piano so I recorded the audio straight into a USB stick by pressing a button (no microphone required). I also added a little bit of reverb in Adobe Audition.
